Any Jersey Sleevers?

No surgery date yet...I was hoping to get all my pre op testing done now to get my surgery in Nov of this year? Is that possible?

Bloodwork usually needs to be less than 30 days old and most consults need to be no more than 3-6 months old, depending on the hospital. Your insurance company might require 6 months of pre op nutrition classes.

I went through APG bariatrics in Egg Harbor Township. My Consultation was July 18, 2012, my surgery date was September 13, 2012. I did ally pre-op testing and got approved quickly

I am going for my pulmonary visit tomorrow. I have done my blood work, upper GI, chest X-ray, ultrasound, and EKG. Going to meet my new dr. On Wednesday (insurance issue) and am having my echo on Thursday. Hopefully I'm still on track from a spring break surgery. I am from Medford.

Okay pulmonary function test done. What a PITA. Everything went great with the exception of the question if I snore...going for a sleep study to determine if I have sleep apnea. Then I have to do one w the cpap machine. All scheduled first week of march. Seeing my new dr. Wednesday. Hopefully still on track :)

I'm finding now that the gas pain is really coming from the amount of food in eating. I'm guessing that's a sign. I'm on stage 3 now, eating mushies... And even though I'm eating the recommended amount from the nutritionist, sometimes it's still too much. As soon as I feel a little gas, I stop eating... This seems to be helping! And as far as our proximity, we should all find out whet we live and hand out one day... We could all go out to dinner and order from the kids menu!!!

My surgeon gave me a prescription for 40mg of omeprazole a delayed release capsule, which helped with the gas bc I was depending on gas-x entirely too much! What a difference. I had my surgery on 12/17/13. SW 267 CW 226

Thanks very much for the info on this, Journey2BNThin...I think I'll ask about this. I've been doing the Gas-X thing just about every other day.

The Sleep Apnea test thing was pretty much standard for my surgeon...I tested positive for sleep apnea, did another sleep study with a cpap, and then got sleeved before I got fitted for a cpap machine...hoping I'll lose enough to not need it at all!

I'm so jealous that you're on stage 3!! I can't wait!!! We all definitely should!! That'd be hysterical!!

Believe it or not, the stages go by pretty quickly...stage 3 is kinda interesting, but just don't do like I did...since this is the closest you've been to 'real food' in a while, you may tend to want to eat faster, like in your pre-op days....please remember to take it slow, and listen to your body! For the first time, you're gonna know what 'full' feels like!

As for us all hanging out one day...that really would be cool!!! We really should do this!! Just no buffets!!

Yeah that's something I'm definitely gonna have to watch for. I used to tend to eat very fast so I'm gonna have to watch myself!

I'm definitely interested in all of us getting together!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
