Newbie Questions

I know how many of you dislike the 'newbie' questions, but I've done a search, and want some more answers...so please forgive me for asking 'those' questions again!!

How will I take my pills each day? Birth control, blood pressure, Vitamins (I take several supplements, not just a multi)

Is there a lot of airway retriction from choking? I'm afraid I'll panic at some point! :help:

Are there clothing swaps on the forum, I can't find them!

I am 3 wks post op and have had no problem swallowing small pills. I took my thyroid med 2 days post op. It is pretty small (the size of BC or Sudafed) and I had no issue swallowing it. I am back on my BC pills, and again, no problems swallowing it. I switched allergy med to one that disolves on the tongue (clarinex), and I take chewable multi Vitamin and chewable Calcium.

If you have other large pills that you are required to take, see if they come in a liquid form or if they are crushable and you can put in applesauce.

No, there is not a clothing swap on the board.

Good luck!

Hi Sherilynn,

Welcome to bandland. I take my pills by biting them into several pieces and taking them with a swallow of coffee or protein drink. I have not had any problems doing it this way. Bite and swallow fast though they don't taste very good.

My Name Is Gemie: I Was Banded December 10, 2005. I Have Lost 38.5 Pounds. I Can't Eat Like I Used To And That's Great. But, I Sometimes Still Crave Fatting Food. Does Any One Else Have This Problem. Need Help.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I just think about this PB that you speak of; and I freak out! If I throw up, I cry - have since I was a little kid...OMG - I hate it. That's one thing that terrifies me about the Band, as I seem to get the picture that alot of that will be going on in the start, until I learn my band!! AHHHHHH!!!!:omg:

It's not actually "throwing up" just so you know. What ends up coming out is some mucous and whatever food was stuck in the stoma. It's hard to explain but it's definitely different.
