Dr Lopez In Tj

My Husband and I are planning to have surgery in Feb 2013. We wanted to go to Dr. Preze in Cancun but because of our BMI Dr. Lopez is the better surgeon. I have been very impressed so far with the communication with his office, but i was wondering if anyone else had surgery by him?

Im going to PV in november with Dr.Lopez. my sister will be with me and i am curious about the accomodations at the hospital for my guest.

In the hospital there is a couch for your guest, my husband came but he stayed at the hotel

I am going to PV for surgery NOvember 16th. I had started the process here in BC but in September when the forums were stating the Provincial government had implimented cutbacks I decided to research alternatives. I have read only wonderful words of Dr. Lopez and Dr. Osuna. I am confident with my choice of Doctors. :) 24 days to go!

That's great, Patti. Where are you from? I have a friend in Tij right now.... She says Dr.Lopez is great and everything is very professional and clean. Good luck!

I'm in the southern interior in BC. How about you?

I'm in the northern interior, originally from your area. Are you feeling positive about this?

You'll have to let us know what your impression/experience like regarding quality of care. I'm also booked for Spring Break, 3/11/13.

I am having surgery with him next Saturday. My friend just had surgery with him yesterday and she liked him and everything went really well

I am booked with him for November 19. The decision was easy when it's all been positive about him. In still a little nervous but ready for the next step in my life. And since we will be in Tijuana for thanksgiving we celebrated yesterday so I could have the fried turkey once more lol about to start my pre op diet so nothing will stop me from moving forward. My husband is going along with me and I think he is more nervous than I am.

Best of luck. What are your preop diet guidelines? May I ask if you are high BMI? I am. 57 BMI, which is my main reason for using Dr. Lopez.

Best of luck and hooray for your friend. I hope you'll share your experience with those of us that are waiting excitedly/anxiously.

No I don't have a high BMI. I will definitely post my experience because I know how scary it is not knowing. I am still nervous myself even with my friend there. Best of luck!

Sorry I haven't been on had things going on with my boys and their sports lol but no not a high BMI I am self pay and know someone who used him so I was able to get first hand info on the process. Of course I expect mine to be a little different since I am not her lol. And I will share my experience as well. I do plan on documenting my journey so I can look back and see just how far I have come.

And about pre op I forgot to include they e-mailed me a packet that's pretty basic but it's done in steps so I think it will be fairly easy to stick with for the short amount of time I need to. I start on November 1 with 2 protein shakes (at least 15 grams of protein per serving) 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch and a salad with no or low fat dressing (in extremely small amount) with a protein on the salad. I can have another protein shake in the evening if needed. Then 3 days before surgery I start taking a laxative and will start a clear liquid only diet. And that's it. Go for surgery and follow the post op part of the diet.

Im from Alberta and just got back from Puerto Vallarta. I was sleeved on Oct 20 with Dr Lopez and his wife Dr Osuna, I had a great experience, the hospital is top notch and quiet. Karen, Dr Lopez's assistant is great. I woke up after surgery with such pain in my shoulder neck, so as soon as i was back from recovery i walked. It helps. Had heartburn for a day but i was given something. Once back at the hotel I walked alot, they have jello and chicken broth but you pay for that. Sat by the pool with grape gatorade and ice was wonderful. I found the wifi was slow and theres a charge for that. Rooms are comfortable. People are very nice and helpful. I've had no problems except for the heartburn the first couple days. If your bringing someone, they have a breakfast buffet thats wonderful according to my husband. I had decaf tea and juice every morning then i found out they had jello enough for three meals. So glad i had this done. felt better as soon as i woke up. cant say enough about Dr Lopez, Dr Osuna and Karen.
