Was sleeved Oct.1st and I have to admit' date=' I am not feeling too good. I had more energy the week after surgery. I hate the Protein Shakes, I am not thirsty, I am not hungry, I am just tired. I have lost 13 lbs, but that was in the first 2 weeks after surgery. I called the doctor and they told me I have to make myself drink my Protein shakes and Water. Not sure what to do.[/quote']

OMG! I am right there with you. Sleeved on Oct 1. I have been miserable to. No energy, and pain that continues at my largest incision. Seen Doc 3 times and yesterday got CT scan to check things out- NORMAL result. Well I don't feel too normal! :-(

I have not been on much. I went back to work on Tuesday. I have been tired all week. I had surgery 10/1 and have been stalled since my 1st follow up. I am remaining positive and keeping it all in perspective. Or at least trying.

I am almost 3 weeks post op (Oct 1 surgery) and I have been feeling really great up until these last few days. Looking over recent posts' date=' I realize I am probably low on the VitD, as well. Guess I better start that up again! I am in Montana, and during this time of year, natural VitD is a little hard to come by... haha!

I went to the clinic for a non-WLS related visit today. 70 pounds down, on the dot, since I started my liquid diet about 40 days ago. It is so crazy because I still see myself as a fat chick. Others around me have been very positive in their feedback. We shall see if I can get into the right frame of mind to recognize the differences. :)

I am pretty excited to go back to work, as weird as that sounds. I am ready to get out of the house! :) Plus, I have a puppy on the way home to me tonight. I am pretty excited to have a walking buddy.

I hope everyone here has a fantastic weekend. :) You are all fabulous!![/quote']

What kind of puppy

Me too chica i was stalled for 8 days, now down 3 more. I am not going to worry about it. i am ok until about 2 oclock, then I just want to take a nap. Luckily, I am home from work by 2. My biggest worry is how much I can eat of mushies. I at like 6 oz of tuna salad puree yesterday, freaked me out.

Done Did It!

I was sleeved on 10/17 I'm not in much pain just really sore when I move around. I was wondering can any one tell me when the soreness will go away so I can feel normal again. I walk so slow and I don't like it.

Beautiful autumn day here. Decided to come to the park with my family. Walked a mile around the track. A very very slow mile but still moving! Can't believe how much it helps. My hubby and kids have been rubbing my back which is funny to the kids when it makes me burp.

I am so at peace with this decision. Though the pain now I can see how wonderful life is and will be.

My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday the 24th. Have been on full liquids for four days. I'm glad I found this thread. Gax X strips went immediately on my pre-surg shopping list. Good luck to all... I'm getting anxious.

My NSV today: putting on hook & eye closure (not elastic!) pants that I could only dream of closing 2-3 days out from surgery due to my gas-filled belly!! ;-)

I had mine done on the 15th as well. I'm doing a lot better than I was a few days ago! I agree with you about the questions. I already called my doctor's office twice! My post op appointment isn't until the 24th.

Surgery was Monday the 15th and I have 6 incisions. The largest one (mid-stomach' date=' under my right boob), is painful and had lots of swelling around it. My doc explained that that is the incision through which my "excess" stomach was removed and that's why it's bigger.

There's no redness or oozing, and it's not particularly warm, but it's really hurting, especially getting up/down from sitting or lying down.

Anyone else experiencing or experienced something similar? Is this normal? Should I put heat or ice on it or just leave it alone?[/quote']

I only have three incisions and was sleeved about 9am on Tuesday the 16th. The larger incision is under my left breast and it hurt like crazy!! But today its a bit better. The other two had very little discomfort but the larger one was brutal. I saw a video today that says the stitches are deeper on that one and something about the muscle and that's why the extra pain. But I can say it is a lot less today than it has been. Feel better soon.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
