Thinking the insurance might deny me. They want 2 years of weight over a BMI of 35. Apparently, between the years 2008 and 2011.....I never got weighed. I'm at a loss for words right now. I have to wait and see what they say. UGH

@ gtracy... Did you go to ANY Dr during those years?? Even a walk-in clinic?? I don't think it has to be from your primary only. Mine weren't. I have quite a few health issues, for many yrs, and they were able to use recorded weights from any Dr... Most dr offices weigh you.. endo, cardio, pulmonary, etc...

I only went to the doctor 3 times in those years and no weights were taken. I went to the walk-in all three times. They took all my vitals but didn't weight me.

Your BMI is under 40?

My BMI is 42 but it wasn't that high for the recorded times. I'm so frustrated!

I thought that the recorded weight history was only for those under 40. Needed 2 comorbities and 2 yr record above 35.

Was it your Dr office that said you needed it or did your insurance co tell you? If its the Dr office, you should try calling you insurance company directly. I thought anyone over 40bmi didn't have to jump through those hoops. Over 40 is considered morbidly obese and I thought one of the qualifications is that you are morbidly obese. I may be wrong but its still worth questioning.

Fingers crossed.... :)

My insurance company is requesting it. Hopefully I won't need it, but my luck.....they will deny me for it. I guess if they do deny me, I can always appeal.

Paperwork is being submitted today. I think I should probably wait a week to call the insurance company. It's gonna be hell!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
