Hello all! I am looking for suggestions for upbeat songs for exercising. I have some ideas ...I do like Womanizer by Brittney Spears..and Gangnam Style...just wanted some suggestions for your favorite music you exercise to. Thanks in advance!

I started using jogtunes indie podcast. I like the consistent upbeat tempo. The host breaks in at the beginning of every song with a BMP announcement which helps when I'm jogging but I ignore it if I'm just doing basic cardio or walking. The pace changes which is nice bc you get ur heartrate pumping then are able to slow it a little. It's really motivating. Check it out on iTunes. You can download the podcasts for free.

What a cool idea! Thanks for sharing. :)

Ooo, Raise Your Glass by Pink!!

For me - when I excercise  , beats per minute (BPM) was important. At one point, I had downloaded an application on the PC what detected the BPM of an MP3 file that was probably about 90% accurate, and I manually updated the BPM field in iTunes with that value. Then I created a smart playlist for songs between 119 and 121 BPM, which was about the sweet spot for me. One of my favorites, as I recall, was Metallica's Enter Sandman, probably their most commercially successful songs, and there's a reason for it!

I'll see if I can export that playlist and post it here.

Not all the most fast tempo, but I find them an eclectic mix of motivational songs

Respect - Aretha Franklin (or Kelly Clarkson)

Turn - Birds

Beautiful - Carole King

Something Worth Leaving Behind - Lee Ann Womack

These Are the Days - Sugarland

Beauty in the World - Macy Gray

Keep Holding On - Avril Lavigne

Coming Out of the Dark - Gloria Estefan

Time of Your Life - Green Day

American Woman - Jimmy Hendrix

There She Goes - the La's

Good Time - Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen

If you look on shape.com they put out monthly workout playlists that I really enjoy :)

Buy My Love - Wynter Gordon

VIP - Ke$ha

Pop That Lock - Adam Lambert

Push The Button - Sugababes

Sexy as Hell - Sarah Connor

U & Ur Hand - Pink

Flashback - Calvin Harris

Kiss the Stars - Pixie Lott

Domino - Jessie J

Part of Me - Katy Perry

Wild One - Flo Rida & Sia

S & M - Rihanna

Mirrors - Natalia Kills

Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) - Mika

Sour Cherry - The Kills

Brave - Kelis

I U She - Peaches

The Falcons - Patrick Wolf

Daft Punk Is Playing at My House - LCD Soundsystem

Dance to Cash - Coco Electric

Do Your Thang - Basement Jaxx

Barbie Girl - Aqua

Just thought of another song: Skrillex's Bangerang..or really anything Skrillex puts out is very upbeat.

Dirty and Stronger by Christina Aguilerra (sp?)

Golddigger by Kanye

F-in perfect by P!nk

Almost anything by Rihanna
