I Know I Shouldn't Complain But...

I am already sick of puréed foods. I know lots of people have to do a full liquid diet forever so I feel bad even complaining bc I know I have it good, but I am already sick of mushy stuff! I'm trying to be creative to keep things from being bland. I have made lowfat potato/veggie Soup and lowfat broccoli cheese soup and have been alternating between those and cottage cheese. I think I'm going to have my husband make low fat white chicken chili for tomorrow. What is every one else eating during their puréed stage? I get full after about 2-3 oz so I'm struggling to get my Protein and Water in. I have to find an unflavored Protein powder that I can add to my Soups, etc. What is everyone else using?

Rach

I also use Pinterest for after surgery recipe ideas.. there are lots of folks who have had the surgery that have pinned some really good recipes..

Do you have a handheld blender? I puree just about everything.

My favorite is Indian food -- it's usually mushy already. Palak Paneer is pureed spinach and cheese. YUM

Yum. Avocado. I have a list of the things I want to eat when I start puréed. Today was my birthday, and I felt a little depressed for the first time, because I want to eat something. It'll get better I know, and it's so worth it. If I didn't have this site, I don't know what I would do.

Happy Birthday! It will get better....i promise :)

I use the unjury unflavored Protein powder to add to my greek yougurt, pudding, Soup (make sure it's not too hot), etc., to boost the grams of protein. They also have a chicken flavored soup that I also added to my Soups.

I use the Unjury too. Also, try sprinkling some quinoa in your soups, yogurts, etc.....it's unflavored and also boosts your protein intake!

Try coil flour mashed potatoes. There are no potatoes in it just the veggie. There are several good recipes online if you google it. They are awesome and healthy.

Had my post-op appt this morning and I graduated to soft solids. Thank you Jesus! I am eating 1/2 cup of hot and sour soup now and just happy I can chew the chicken and tofu rather than blend it. Who knew I would miss the act of chewing...??? :)

Anyways, hope everyone is doing well. I have lost 12lbs since my surgery last Tuesday so moving right along.

Thank you for this!! Indian food is my favorite!! I just started purees yesterday, so I got my Mexican fix, now I know I can get my Indian fix too- I'm a happy girl! Did you make it your self or order from a restaurant?

Being Indian, I know Indian food will be well

Incorporated into my post op meal plan. Daal, chicken lamb etc and paneer all high in Protein and high in yum factor :)

I've been doing liquids since August 15th. Soft foods start this coming Tuesday. Had my leak test done a few days ago & my sleeve looks great. Yah!!

ReadyForSuccess: when you can start with soft foods? It sounds like we have more conservative surgeons than most people here. :-)

Sorry, just read this. I go see my doctor today, so I get cleared for soft foods...but I have to meet with the nutritionist in the morning before I can start. I'm like really? Give me something to eat, already! My mouth waters constantly, lol.

Neither! I got a frozen meal, they are usually in the organic section. Tandoori Kitchen or Amy's -- like 5 min to microwave and it lasted for 3 meals . :)

Not sure if it was really delicious or I was just deprived of flavor.
