October 2006 Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

Jessica thanks for sharing your favorites and what is working for you.

I thought my fill was aggressive too - when I asked the surgeon he said it is "individualized" for everyone according to the flow and how much is tolerated under the fluroscopy. We will see!

Good Morning friends!

Hope u are all well!

I have my first fill today at 4. last night tho i totally had a freak out - am i ready for a filll? Am i folloowing the rules well enough to put restriction into the equation?? can i really afford a $200 this close to the end of the year and Christmas?? I just don't know.

Altho the idea of leaving work at 230 is reason enough to go! I just don't know. I feel like I'm eating more and have substituted my sweets and chocolate addiction with a need for those 100 cal packs of pringles or cheese-its (anything salty).

The pounds are coming off but i'm worried i'm going to screw something up with a fill... i just don't know...

Any one else anxious before their first fill?

Hello All!

I had my first fill today at 10:30 this morning. Had 2cc's injected. I'm on liquids for the rest of today and tomorrow I'll begin mushies. Just feel a little tightness, but took some of Toradol (for the inflamation), so that should do the trick. Before the fill, the band site was viewed under fluro and after drinking barium. After the fill, the band site was viewed as I drank/gulped more barium to ensure that there wasn't blockage.

I go back for my 2nd fill on 2/5/07. How are all my October bandster family members doing? I wonder if we've all had our first fill yet?

hi friends.

Well I was on the road to recovery after my gall bladder removal on Friday then Saturday I developed a high high fever of 103.5. I couldn't stop having diareahha and wanted to vomit. Thank God I only threw up once. I ended up getting dehydrated and went to the ER because I was afraid something was wrong from the gall bladder surgery. I was admitted to the hospital for two more days. Apparently I caught a nasty flu that my body couldn't fight off. I am home now and ready to recover. Thanks for all the well wishes. The good news is that weight is falling off. I think I am going to stayed unfilled for awhile until I feel 100 percent.

Good job everyone.

Jodi

Jodi - speedy healing!

hi all!

well i stopped being a baby and went for my fill. It was OK except for the getting hot and dizzy and thinking I would pass right out.

The Doc said that the patient before me had the same exact reaction so he took some of the fill out - i have 1.5cc... i can come back within the 2 weeks for an adjustment and it doesnt cost more so i have to wait and see if i need it...

At least tomorrows friday! Have a good one!

Jodi/everyone

I haven't been really great myself. I have my clolitis/ IBS back. So they wouldn't give me a fill either, ( I have been so sick who wants one)but I am thinking I should just get it. I can always have it removed if I get sicker.

Jodi, good wishes with your recovery, I had my gall bladder out when I was 8 months P.G. the hard way with a t-tube in my bioduct track that I had to wear home I have a huge cut going across my whole tummy and I had 24 staples. But that was 23 yrs ago now they do it so much better.

So you and I are kinda on the same track.

I get a fill (if I am better) on Jan 10th 4cc's in a 10cc band. I haven't lost weight for 2 weeks. So I also need to get back on track.I was at 33 lbs at the Dr's on Dec 1. I am back on here to get some support like everyone else. I love to read everyones messages. Good or bad there is some of us in all of them. They are very helpful.

Have a great Holiday, and lets all regroup in Janurary and support everyone. I feel like a cheerleader just now. LOL

Mary

Well girls, I took y'alls advice and seen my Dr. He gave me my second fill yesterday. What a difference! For awhile I thought my band had quit on me! Hell, I even had gained 3 pounds (bummer). After the fill, it was back to normal. I actually got that dreaded choke and gag. That feeling where you think your esophagus is going to explode? Whew. So hopefully I will be able to make that christmas challenge I made to myself and proclaimed on here with so many others of losing 10lbs by Christmas! Lord....6 lbs to go and only 10 days! I don't know about that! But I'm going to give it my all!

I now fully understand the meaning of PB. I had my first fill 3 days ago 4cc/ 4cc band. I have been doing okay being really careful. Today I had food crisis, forgot my Protein Bar, ect - I stopped at a drive through and was planning to try a mozzarella stick and a bite of a chicken finger - BAD IDEA!!!

I was driving and felt so much pain in my band! It felt like it might never end. THen while driving... PB... all over my brand new nursing scrubs and car. Yuk! Slime and all. I had to go home & change for sure. Thanks for letting me share!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
