Happy Tuesday everyone!

I don't know whats going on with me today. I tried to have some applesauce earlier and didn't finish it because it felt like it was sitting at the back of my throat. YUCK.

Now its lunch time and i was eating my fav melted cheese and ragu dish and got just threw some of it and then the same feeling.

Maybe a few laps around the parking lot will help.

hope everyones having a good day!

Happy Tuesday!! Yes I got my first fill. Not a bad experience. I am so excited that now I will finally feel full quickly and loose some more wieght. My doctor was so great about speaking with me regarding taking full advantage of the band and how much I have been through (surgery which is always a possiblity of dangerous events occurring) and where I will be physcially in 5 months if I do the right thing. These words stuck in my mind " Just don't forget to respect your band, you now have what it takes."

Denise

I am anxious to hear how the fill affected you. We were banded on the same day and my starting weight was 239, close to yours.

I don't feel any restriction at all. The first month was great, down 30 lbs but in the last almost two weeks, I have gained 4 lbs!!!! I can eat anything from steak to pizza. Of course, I am watching it and doing my best but I am certainly ready for an adjustment.

My dr. will start me out at a 1cc fill.

I would love to hear a bit about your journey so far. Thanks

Hello everyone! Good to read about fills. I get my first fill on 12/14. I thank God for my band even without a fill. I'm a little nervous about getting a fill because I hear horror stories about people that throw up and can't keep anything down.

Hey everyone! I have my first fill tomorrow. Thank goodness, because I can pretty much eat what I want, though not like before. I had avocado Soup and most of an enchilada for lunch today and wasn't stuffed! Uh-oh. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Wish me luck!

namazj I have my first fill tomorrow as well. Good luck! I am really looking forward to the fill. I've done ok with eating, but have been slipping more than I was. My doc starts out with a 1cc fill, so we'll see how it goes from there!

I love this thread! Whenever I am thinking to myself, "Why am I able to eat this much? Am I normal? Should I be losing more?"...I see that many are going through the same stuff! I am getting a fill tomorrow, and after my last experience I am nervous, but I just really think she did my fill wayyy too early. So...I want to ask for .5cc, and hopefully that will do the trick. We will see! I am actually wanting to go back to Soups again for awhile, I want to lost that 10 pounds by Christmas...but I REALLY have to get off my ass and exercise.

Much love to all of you out there and good luck with your fills!

ThreeBeauties: Its funny because I tend to read more posts from you and the others that have been banded on our same date. First, the doc gave me a shot of Lidocaine which was not any worse than having blood drawn ( and I am definitely not a fan of that). Then he put the other needle with the saline in and I felt nothing. It was all over. I am now on full liquids for 24 to 48 hours. I had split pea Soup for dinner and later on some yogurt. I feel o.k. so far. I am a little nervous because now that I some restriction I don't want to get anything caught and have a PB. I will let you know how I feel the next week...more to come. But let me congratulate you on your awesome weight lose. Thirty pounds is a lot. Be proud!!!!!!! Your hard work paid off.

Hey all, went to the doctor yesterday and he released me to mushy/soft foods. I'm almost 6 weeks out. I won't get a fill until Dec 28th (Merry Christmas to me!). That will be 10 weeks post op. My doctor is very conservative about fills. Where's KStar? When is your first fill scheduled?

I gained a few pounds over the holiday because we went to the inlaws that don't know about my surgery. I did pretty well and stuck to the plan most of the time, but there and at my family's for Thanksgiving, I did munch on pretzels to keep my mind off of the other verboten stuff. I increased my Water intake to counteract the sodium. My niece made me some home made butternut squash Soup for Thanksgiving dinner. So sweet of her and delicious! My family all knows about my surgery, so they were very supportive.

As of this morning, I am back to my pre-holiday weight. Yay! Back on track. I had tuna salad yesterday after my doctor's appointment and it was heaven! I went to the store and stocked up on mushies and soft foods. I can't wait to cook some fish for dinner. That sounds fabulous.

Keep up the good work, everyone. We can do it together!

Yeah Melissa! You're finally able to eat real food. You did so well on the liquids...I don't know how you lasted so long.

Thanks, Jessica. I'm a very good dieter (fat lot of good that's done me in the past) - I can set my mind pretty well. It's the hunger and sticking with it indefinitely that gets me in the end. I've lost loads of weight lots of times. I'm hoping my band helps me put an end to the yo-yo and get all the way down to where I want to be.

By the way, Jessica, we are "neck and neck" in the weight loss - 14 pounds. However, you will be entering "onderland" very soon and I'm jealous! I did have to purchase a new pair of jeans and got to go back to another smaller pair in my closet. Woo hoo!

Keep it up!

Hi everyone!

We had to take a visiting employee out to lunch so I was very nervous about eating with the work crew. They all know and have been very supportive. I got the salmon, YUM and asked for veggies instead of rice. I LOOOVVEE rice but didnt want to chance it since i read its an issue with most folks.

I'm getting pretty used to cooking fish! And i bought a bag of Healthy Eating (or something like that from Domincks by the Tysons) italian flavored chicken breasts. They are nice and small and cook in lke 15 minutes in the oven! yum.

well better get back to work!

Have a good one!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
