So did the pulminology test Tuesday. Was supposed to meet with NUT today so the insurance could be submitted next week.

Well I guess there was an error on my pulminology results and they need to retest. So hope I can get that done soon.

I had set up my NUT appointment a few weeks ago and I was told it was today at 11:30. I showed up at 11:20 and the receptionist told me I didn't have an appointment set up for today. She said they scheduled me for September 28th. What??? So the receptionist squeezed me in in Tuesday. I just want these tests done already!

:-(

Little things that have been so aggravating.

It is sooooo worth it in the end, so be patient.

I had trouble with the pre 3 month weight loss program my insurance required. The PA was not nice, was shaming and critical. One session I told him he had never told me a certain thing and he lambasted me saying the other three ladies in the group that day would tell me differently - I reminded him I had never been with this set of ladies before as they had stuck me with a different group each time I came. He always made me cry. They kept mixing up appts and times. I came for an hour visit at the assigned time to find out they had moved me to a 3-hr group from an individual hour appt. The group wasn't to start for another over 30 minutes later, and they hadn't notified me about the appt changing to three hours either. I had to work following the scheduled hour appt. It was a mess each time I went. I kept telling myself it's only three months, only three months like a mantra and I would never have to see these people again.Whew! thanks for letting me vent, too.

Soon it will be all done, with some followup appts, but after surgery it is really about YOU, your program and you using this wonderful tool of VSG well. Don't let the turkeys get you down.

Just let me be thin people!!!

Attempt #2 to meet with nutritionist. Fingers crossed this drive will be successful.

Oh and coordinator still avoids me like the plague. Oh once I hear approved I will let the surgeon know how my experience was working with that coordinator.

>:-(

I thought the first thing they do is submit to insurance to see if its covered and then they start the testing requirements and nutrition appts.

Has the coordinator got the go ahead from your insurance to start the medical tests and nut visits?

I called insurance and verified coverage before I went to the seminar. They cover like 5 forms of bariatric surgery. I paid psych eval out of pocket. They are submitting my pulminology test for coverage and the preop consult was covered. Also I get 5 NUT visits covered by my plan. So the requirements aren't too bad.

BMI 40+

5+ years of obesity (don't have all 5 years because of no insurance for 2 of 5 years)

21 or older

My mom was approved for bypass and also to correct her fistula pretty quick.

I pay a lot for insurance, so they better approve me!!

Also the doc is at a COE and is the in network preferred provider. They submit in the morning.

FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
