I'm looking forward to going to theme parks and roller coasters and not being worried about fitting into rides!!!

Oh, me too!!! I am almost giddy with excitement about it!! My cousin's family lives near Carowinds & her husband & boys love going. I'm hoping to get them to go with me next season & I can picture us running from coaster to coaster & me having the wild-eyed look of a child on my face, filled with so much excitement :-D

Sleeved oct 8th. I am 42 yo and now have one child 2 yo. I am from decatur, alabama. I am really surprised that there are not more people on here from alabama since we are second only to mississippi in highest number of obesity. I am stalled at 19# and frustrated. Don't know what to eat. Add me on mfp so I can get ideas. User name wendy8802.

I did...for a day or two. I blamed it on pain meds and stopped using it. I went away...

I had blurred vision post op as well...maybe for the first 2 weeks or so (off and on). But then it went away and no problems since. (-:

I am starting to get very worried. Everyone around me is getting "concerned" about me and so they are bringing me food! My hubby knows I need to get my calorie count up' date=' so he is suggesting every high calorie food he thinks I can get down. My in laws are concerned so they brought over homemade banana pudding. I feel like other than being able to eat a couple of bites I haven't made any real changes. It was that types of food that got me in trouble to begin with. It is really hard to turn down people who care and food that tastes so good.[/quote']

I dont know when u were sleeved (cant see tickers on my phone), but for me (i am 4 weeks out), i am resisting any kind of sugar. The reason is that ive still had some cravings at times and it seems if i dont have sugar in my system, its a little easier to resist. I got all the sugar out of my system doing preop liquids and i noticed how better i felt. So for now, even though i "could" eat a small bite of cake, cookie, etc, im choosing not to to help me stay on track. I have made eggface's donuts, eat Quest Protein Bars, sf pudding with added Protein for sweet tooth. In the beginning i was consuming maybe 400-600 calories a day. Now i can eat more than that. Im sorry they are "sabotaging" your diet with excuses of being concerned. If you get your 60 grams of protein in and your liquids, you will feel better energy wise. I can tell a difference in my energy level just from week 3 to week 4. Hang in there and come to us for support. Im sure they all mean well and are doing it because they dont know any better. But like u said, it is that kind of eating that got us here in the first place and i hate the fact that while u may be in your "6 month honeymoon" stage of fastest weight loss, at the time you can use to build new and better eating habits while your new sleeve tool is at its best, that your family is not helping u to a new healthier you. Just a suggestion, but if you make it a point to fill up on protein, when they bring the "bad stuff" to you, you will be too full to eat it!!!! (-: My heart goes out to you. I think I would have a hard time resisting if my family kept pushing and tempting me with foods not on my diet.

Today is my one month surgiversary and I have lost 17 pounds, 40 since starting the process in July.

I was feeling like a slow loser for a second, then I felt my legs. Water aerobics and jogging are melting my saddlebags and little pot belly and leaving muscle in their wake. After all the stress of the procedure I am finally feeling normal and going back to doing my everyday routine, but now with more energy.

Sorry this post was so long, I'm just having a great morning.

Mine finally went away, I think it was those strong pain meds

Btw Protein Shakes are getting so difficult to stomach now!! Week 3 I'm on purees

After telling my daughter that I was getting sleeved and showed them what the results are typically, she was happy. Once I left the room she was telling her mom that I would finally be able to get on the rides with them again.

This was a big problem this summer cause we went to Six Flags Magic Mtn and I was unable to fit in any of the seats of the rides except the river raft ride. I used to only have to worry about legroom on some rides since I'm 6'1", but this time it was my fat that wouldn't fit. Unfortunately it broke my kids spirit of what is usually a fun experience since I had to sit out of the fun. Especially since I'm the fun daring parent who turns into a big kid at theme parks. And it was the 'wake up and do something' moment that made me start looking into WLS.

Going insane because of the liquids?? Me too!! Driving me nuts!

At least I'm not the only one freaking the hell out. I am DIEing to eat a piece of fruit. Or take a bite into anything that requires my teeth.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
