Recommended Posts

Good luck to my fellow Oct. 10' date=' 11 and 12th-ers! It's great to see so many positive posts about surgery this week! God bless you all with continued pain-free (or controlled, at least!) recovery! 1 more day for me- Thurs. 10/11/12. I have to drink the magnesium citrus drink as soon as I get home from work tomorrow. Does it makes you sick? I don't have much food in me, shave no idea what it'll do...scared![/quote']

U and I are in the same boat.....Im Thursday as well. I'm not nervous about the surgery at all bc this is a revision for me but Im just wondering why I'm sitting on the couch and not cleaning and ironing my kiddos clothes. I'm tryna make my post op trip home relaxn without a thought. I feel crazy! B-)

Less than a week to go (6 days but who's counting?!) and I am wound up, y'all! I feel like I'm on fast forward. A healthy mixture of nerves and unbridled excitement, I suppose!

Thank goodness my surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet; I'd be hot mess for sure!

Just planning on taking yoga pants and flip flops to the hospital on Monday, along with a hair brush, Chapstick and deodorant. Anything else?

They had told me to have the tests at least 10 days out so if it was positive they could give me the medicine. I hope that is enough time. The weird thing is that I had called the surgeon's office this morning and they said everything was good. My PCP is the one who called me. I read that some people have to wait a couple of months after testing positive. I am kind of freaking right now.

It's so funny you say that. Same thing happened to me. Originally the doctor who did my endoscopy said all was good. Then a week later my surgeons office called to see how far along I was on the Prev PAC. I was like "Prev PAC? What's that?" They were SHOCKED that the doctor who did my endoscopy never called me to tell me that I had a bacterial infection. And my surgeons office then gave me the Prev PAC.

Don't panic. It will all work out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
