What is your current fill in your 4cc band?

Recommended Posts

How can they put 4.1cc in a 4cc band? Is'nt that too much restriction?

Your body will tell you if it's too much. That can happen with as little as 2cc in a 4cc band (I was perfect at 1.6cc or 1.9cc - now I can't remember!!).

I've heard of ALL band sizes having a little extra leeway as far as getting more liquid in than it "officially" holds.

I've been told a 4cc band actually holds about 5cc

(Sorry for this guys...but) Girls, do you notice a big difference when TOM comes along. I was about to go for another fill, but with this TOM I really have to work to get things down. I'm at about 3.3 in a 4cc band, seems perfect for me...except for TOM!

I just got my first fill today & my doctor gave me 1.5cc. I thought it was way too much for like half an hour but now (four hours later) I feel like I could stand to have a little more put in. But I know that I could take a couple weeks for it to kick in, so no frets. I am damn sure that I'm ready to lose some weight though. /rantishness

Hi ya all. I registered specifically for this information. I have a 4cc band.. and am sitting at 3.4cc within my band currently. When TOM happens I can eat like hell. Drives me crazy! I am thinking about getting more put in- but I wasn't sure what would happen if I hit 4cc. I have had my band for 9 months. I dropped 70 pounds and 4 pant sizes. I feel good and can breath easer. But I don't want to fall back and put it all back on.

I am worried that if I up my cc's some more than I won't feel the restriction later on (ie 2 yrs, 3yrs, 4 yrs).

Too much fill? I just tried to have dinner and had a couple bites of mac n cheese and one bite (small) of hot dog and am stuck. This is every day for me and it's getting so old. I keep hoping that once I lose some weight the band will losen up enough that I can eat again.

Yes, it sounds as though your fill is tight, but mac n cheese isn't something that would go down easy. I usually stay away from noodles, breads and rice.

IF you are too tight, schedule a defill, and in the meantime get some Slim Fast or Advantage shakes or Protein Powder that you mix up yourself. There are little to no nutritional benefits in that meal of mac and cheese and weiners.

Also, if soft cooked veggies are a challenge, grab a V8 or better yet, juice some veggies. I can't eat a whole cucumber, but I can drink one.

And Vitamins, find a good liquid Vitamin.

We need to nourish our bodies to keep them healthy. If you focus on getting more exercise and eating the good, clean and healthy foods, the weight will fall off.

Let us know how it is going.

Paulax ~ Thank you so much for that advice. I have been just thinking I'm a failure at this. I never thought that maybe I'm just too full and unable to eat properly. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me.

I have a 4 cc band. I've had 3 fill appointments with only one fill. I have 1.2cc in my band right now. I have decent restriction, but I can eat a full cup at each sitting and get hungry every 3-4 hours.

I passed up a fill at the begining of this month becasue I was right on the 2lbs a week mark (he fills if you fall below that) but I have only lost 1 lb in the last few weeks. Definitly need another one. My next apt is on Mar 12th. Trying to do the best I can until then.

I'm glad I found this thread for people with the same band size... When I found out how small my band was, I was thinking that we'd have to be really conservative with my fills since I only have 4 CC's and I hear about 10 and 14 cc bands all the time.

How many cc's do you get each fill?

Thank you so much for the information. You all really are great. I was struggling with the slight flat line I have hit. I plan on getting another fill mid March. I am so close to my goal.

I was banded on 12/26/07. I got my first fill about 3 weeks ago. I have 1cc in my 4cc band. The first two weeks after my fill were fine. I had some restriction but could still eat. This week has been horrible. I get stuck after eating one bite of food even when I chew it to death. I actually got stuck eating yogurt tonight and it came back up. Is it normal to feel like this after just one fill? It's so frustrating!!! I'm not having trouble with liquids so i have been trying to supplement the loss of calories with Protein Shakes. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jenn

Hi all. I was banded on Nov. 5th, 2007. I just had a fill last Wed. (my first) all along I thought I had gotten the new 10cc AP band, but when I asked my Dr. after the fill how much I got he said, 2cc you're halfway there. So that must mean I have the 4cc? He did my fill on flouro so it was neat to see it. He tried 2.5 but it was way too much. I love this fill! I can still eat pretty much everything except way less! I have even lost about 5 lbs since!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
