How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?

Recommended Posts

Isopure? More like Isopuke!! I'm trying to find something with a lot of Protein (can't beat 40 grams) in a bottle where I also get 20 oz of Fluid at only 160 calories. If I didn't have such a tiny stomach, I'd just chug it down fast. But I have to sip, sip, sip, and gag, gag, gag. Those Protein Shots are worse. Guess it's back to the shakes. Let me know if you found something tasty out there!

Ok, is a Protein shot an injection or an bar shot? LOL..... I would welcome a daily injection over the putrid protein stuff.

Lol no it's not an injection. The shots are little bottles (I think they're also called bullets) that have 35 g protein. They taste like a medicine-y, super concentrated liquid Jello. The Isopure is a little better, but not by much.

Not to mention they are useless. The protien in these shots is collagen / Gelatin and is not digestible by the human body. So you may drink 35grams of Protein, but your body will absorb none of it.

hahah... Isopure hater here too. Tried 5 flavors and did not like any of them. I use the Premiere Protein pre-mixed chocolate shake (Vanilla is gross) 11 oz has 30 grams of protein and tastes better to me then any Isopure, Unjury, Syntax nectar, Ease I have tried and Premiere Proteins 30g in 11 oz is more per ounce of protein then the Isopure. You can get them at costco and Sam's Club

I need to get some...I've heard a lot about them. I have some EAS ones... But I think I'm a little lactose intolerant. Hopefully they don't bother my stomach too much.

I'm lactose intolerant, but I have tried the mucsle milk (lactose free, no milk) lite, 20-25g of Protein - strawberry, vanilla, choc - and I take them better than any other I have tried. I CAN'T STAND Isopure (I even tried putting a couple paks of splenda in it...that didn't work) :o. It makes me gag...the smell alone is horrible! They didn't tell me that in the seminar. lol

Hope this helps you out.

I've tried several flavors of Isopure and each is more disgusting than the last. Kicking myself over that waste of money because they are not cheap! I keep hearing about Premiere Protein Drinks but am lactose intolerant and afraid to risk trying it. Maybe if I could find them for sale individually I would take the risk and try one but cannot purchase a whole case when I have already wasted so much money on Protein junk to date.

If you are lactose intolerant, Premier Protein is not for you. The best protein for you is a pure whey Protein Isolate.

I know...I have a ton of nectar so I'll probably stick to that.

Now I am scared. I just bought 4 bottles of isopure..... I did not like the vanilla premier Protein so I will try chocolate next. I did like Syntrax nectar though! strawberry kiwi, fuzzy navel, Cappuccino, and double stuffed Cookies were nice flavors! How does everyone feel about unflavored Protein mixes?

I like the muscle milk light. I think around 100 calories. I just ordered a small container of Cookies n cream. Hopefully I like it. I tried the nectar post op and wasn't a fan. I had some Isopure after gallbladder surgery last weekend and it was not the best. I have a container of injury chicken broth that I use once in a blue moon just for a change up.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
