If so does it affect anything? How long was recovery time? ect?

I haven't but my surgeon told me that 5% of lapbanders end up losing their gallbladders.

So it isn't uncommon.

I had my gallbladder removed just over 1 year after the band.

There has been a few on here that had to have it done. I guess I was lucky and had mine out before the band. Good Luck!

The more i read up on it the more I think that is why I have been having problems. The kick of it all is, that at work I wanted to keep the band a secret so I told them that I was getting my gallbladder out. If it comes to that I don't know what i'll have to do. BLEH!

A friend who was banded same day as I was, had hers removed last week...Yikes.

I am having mine removed on Friday.

I found the surgery easier than the band, personally. I was off the bed the first hour back into the room and out and home within 3 hours.

6 wks ago I had mine out and I wasn't able to have it don't Lap because the stone was 4 cm big....16 staples and a lovely scare across my stomach later.

I had mine out about 8 months after getting banded. The gallbladder recovery was much easier than the band. No problems at all. I am so glad it is out because the gallbladder pains were awful, never really knew when they were going to happen. Good luck!
