Vsg scheduled for Oct2, 2012

Top weight: 280

Current weight 278

Pre op liquid diet starts September 1

Goal weight 140-150

I am 5'0 so my weight should be at 125 for a healthy BMI..150 still puts my in the overweight category but I am and always will be curvy. Anything is better than 280. But I guess when the time comes, we will see where my body says "that's enough weight loss " lol :)

Highest was 283. Surgery was 255. I picked 140 as my goal weight because at 5'3 that's the weight I would be considered normal. I'd be ok with around 160 though.

If by top weight you mean heaviest then I'm 320 and the only goal I talked about with my doc was to lose 20 by October ... I was 315 when he said that so I'm trying to get to 295

I don't know what my ultimate goal should be.. I'm 5'10 and the healthy weight for someone my height is like 170 and I can't even imagine being that small lol

I'm 5'2" but with very light bones (as is my mother) so as low as my goal weight might seem, I'm pretty sure that's the right (albeit slightly optimistic) weight for my body. Highest weight (which is pretty much what it was the day of surgery): 225 lbs. Goal weight: 105 lbs. Am around 2/3 of the way there, but still have lots of negative thoughts as to whether I will make it and be able to maintain it or not.

I topped out at my very largest somewhere around 280 (I'm 5'1" and some change) but was 242 on the day of surgery. At goal I'm 135 pounds, but I currently weigh 139 pounds (I'm two months pregnant).

~Cheri

I'm glad to know it is possible. I'm 5'1" and started at 279. I want to be between 130-140, and my doctor said 160 was more reasonable.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
