I am 4 days post op and having a really hard time. The incision pain is terrible on top of my abdomen just plain sore. I had to quit taking Lortab because it was making me nasious. I've been sleeping almost all day because I'm physically drained. I know I didn't hit my Fluid quota yesterday and I'm struggling again with it today. How bad is it if I don't get all my fluids? Mostly because I've been sleeping. Help! I'm really starting to regret the surgery

Don't worry this is so normal! I had so many nervous breakdowns the first few weeks, thinking about what I had done. You get over that sooo fast though! I couldn't be happier with my decision. I feel wonderful now, with no pain of any kind. Plus you start losing that excess weight and you can't believe you ever doubted it in the first place! Praying for you! :)

It is completely normal to feel exhausted, you just had major surgery. Dont worry about the Water, just keep on trying, it will all fall into place soon. Dont give up, you can do this. Hugs to you!

I am 3 mths out. I slept lots the first few weeks. Don't beat yourself up about the fluids. It's all overwhelming for several weeks. Just do the best u can and concentrate on sipping and getting your Protein in. Watch the color of your urine. As long as it doesn't get dark you are doing ok!! It gets better!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
