Same here, tomorrow I am month post op, down 18 lbs and 18 1/2 inches, I follow my diet to the tee, thought I would have lost a little more, but it still feels good! The compliments are starting to come and that feels really good, we will get there I'm sure! ;)

Sounds to me like everyone is doing great! These first few weeks have really been about adjusting and building on the textures of food and drink before we can settle onto a better higher Protein diet!

I'm pretty happy with how things are going-had surgery on 26th July, lost 5lb pre-op and have lost 18 since. Not really counting calories or carbs at the moment-only on purée stage so know its more about getting something down me and some nutrients etc in. Looking forward to getting onto normal food and then sticking to a healthy diet and exercise! Then the long-term fun really starts I guess!

Good luck all! :-) xxx

I am feeling so much better. I went in for surgery at 5' 4, 203 lbs and weighed 183 this morning. I had a stall for over 2 weeks and it is my TOM so I think that is great. Best of all I am OFF my metformin and bp meds and my energy level is increasing. I will be one month out tomorrow.

I'm three days of being 4 weeks post-op. I went in today since I'm having some complications, and have lost 30 lbs since surgery. I am still on a clear liquid diet but about to start mushy foods for 2 weeks.

I used to drive myself nuts by weighing my self all the time. What I try to do now is only weigh myself once month. I am almost 6 weeks out and have lost 30 lbs and feeling great.

Its so strange how lots lose 30 or more lbs then others lose 15-20 lbs the 1 month. Happy for those losing so quickly. Not sure why there is such a diff

Everyone is different. Usually those with more to lose drop faster, men are faster and those that have not carried the weight as long are faster.

For the most part it all works out in the end if you make healthy choices. The plus side of losing a bit slower is less skin sag....and an excuse to buy those expensive jeans because they might last more than a week! :)

I had surgery on July 24. I have been feeling great. I am in the middle of my second week of soft foods (per Doctors schedule) and am to be moved to "regular" in 4 days. After reading everyone else's post op diet I am nervous he is advancing me too quickly. My Doctors PA said she has not seen a leak in a sleeve pt there since she started working there 5 years ago. I am terrified of doing something to cause a leak. Would u follow doctors plan or do another couple weeks of soft foods?

I was also sleeved July 24 & all though people can tell I have loss, I am upset because since surgery only down 12 lbs. I didnt lose any until my 8th day post-op. I would be happy to lose at least 4 lbs per week. My Doc said that 15 to 20 is normal. I must say I tried on some size 14's and was happy but another 5 lbs and they should fit nicely.

I was sleeved July 17th. I too encountered the 3 week stall. It's awful. But my doctor allowed me to do full exercise on week 3 so I amped up my workout. I started jogging and i broke the stall. The only issue is during the "stall" you have to keep up your exercising or else you will stall again. And I'm talking like everyday. Learned that the hard way. Yesterday marked my 1 month sleeve-aversary and i was down 21lbs. Praying im down another .4 or so this AM. I've been working out ALOT!! So tired of this fat. Ugh. Hang in there & Good luck to you!

Hi I am afraid that because I am still in the pre-op stage that I was 229 on 7/2 and this morning 217 and I sill have 4more days to go on the high protein/low fat/ low carbs diet and 1 wk of pure liquids that I will be one of those ppl that will loose very slowlyafter surgery. But I guess I have to set my mind to be ok with that because it willbe a permanent lose.... Thank you for sharing this is a great help to me....

My doctor had me start mushies on day 3. I couldn't stomach them right away, but I did start on like day 8. At four weeks out, I was on regular food. I'm 8 weeks out (9 weeks on Tuesday) & so far so good! Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
