High Bmi

I have read/heard that many surgeons will not do WLS if someone's BMI is over 50. I was wondering if anyone have experienced this? As of right now my BMI is around 70, and to get down to 50 I would have to lose almost 100lbs! I was just wondering if anyone else had to lose a great deal of weight before getting WLS due to high BMI

I do have to lose weight 75 lbs total' date=' and 60 before they schedule my surgery..and I have to say..I am kicking butt!! I have under 20 lbs to reach my 60 lbs goal and I feel like it has taken no time. It's been hard but I know it will be worth it! I do believe that he has my best interests at heart, and that in the long run it will be easier on me to lose some weight before hand.[/quote']

Great job! Yes, the more you lose now, the less after surgery! :)
