I feel great, I've got my life back, and i look pretty darn good, lol!!!! I've got so many NSV's, they're too numerous to count!!! I'm concentrating on maintenance. You Celebrate what you've achieved! I say, you've done an awesome job and you are AWESOME!!!! Celebrate :)

@ dannybabe24

I know I am only 2 weeks out and don't know many of the ups and downs of a major weight loss....can't wait to find them all out...lol. Who set your goal? Maybe your body has it's own goal and you have reached it. Do you feel good? Are you healthy? Maybe that is all that is important and you need to just go on and enjoy life and not let 10 pounds ruin all you have done. I may have to reread this when I get there....lol.

So happy for all you have done.

@ dannybabe24

You are going to look great and because you only get married once just enjoy all of this and if the weight is meant to come off it will. Don't let that spoil this magical year.

I have been reading the boards for a few weeks but figured it was time to chime in! I am in Cheektowaga and I am planning on going with Dr. Pham. I would love to hear from those who also went to him. I heard he has a great personality and is very compassionate. How long was your process with him from your first consult until surgery? I am hoping for surgery sometime in June so the weather is nice for lots of walking. What was the consult appt with him like? I have my appt next week with him. What are the steps after that? On my checklist on his patient portal it says 2 month weight management program....what does that entail? How was St Joes for the surgery? Sorry for all the questions, I am both excited and nervous.

I have a friend who went through Synergy and at first that was going to be the route I was going to go. I took their online seminar. I sent in my paperwork and then called them to schedule an appointment. I don't like that you can't call and talk to somebody but you have to leave a message. After some more research I decided against them. I am sure they are great but I read that Dr Carvetta is very serious with not a great bedside manner and I heard it is hard to get in with Dr Cauruna.

I could not be happier since switching to Dr Pham so far. I have not met him yet but I posted on the groups Facebook for feedback and Vu from his office contacted me right away and answered all my questions. I went to the seminar and was so impressed with everyone there. There was a new surgeon working with him that was at the seminar, he was also very nice and knowledgeable. I am going to a support group this Saturday and then my appt with Dr Pham next Friday.

How often are the post op appointments with Dr Pham? Does he do them or is a nurse?

Good luck, this is where you want to ask all those questions. Wish I could help you but I go to Synergy. Hopefully someone can answer your questions. Again....Good luck. Have you got an appointment yet?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
