I was sleeved on July 17th and as soon as I woke up in the recovery room all I could do was cry and ask myself why did I put myself through this. Trust me its the pain talking. Today I feel so happy I did this surgery. I am 32lbs down! If I didn't do the surgery I would still be feeling sad with my 274lbs. Please hang in there. It does get better! Hope you two feel better soon!

My surgery was also on the 17th. Thanks God I did not have any problems. Spend 1 day at the hospital and was released the next day around 3pm. Like everyone says ... walk and drink Water as much as possible.

I just had my surgery yesterday! Did anyone else have trouble telling if you were hungry or if it was the air and sickness in your belly?? How long does the confusion last?

I'm still struggling with that. I really don't want to eat anything, but every 30 minutes or so I try to drink some Water or have some Jello. I also walk around and that helps the gas pain go away. Hope this helps some

Gatorade 2 is going down much better then Water. I wonder why? I tried having some chicken broth only 2 teaspoons. Still no pain and that is great!! I haven't taken any pain meds since I left the hospital yesterday

Thanks y'all for the words of encouragement. I have a good support group at home' date=' but none of them have had the surgery. It's so nice to have found this group and to realize that I'm not alone in my journey.

On a side not, it's a little easier to cough today.[/quote']

People would not have this surgery if the pain level and discomfort stayed the same, right?!

You're doing awesome. Stay in the moment and out of the thought for tomorrow.

Peaceful heart <3

Did anyone use a tummy binder for support getting up and walking around? I have surgery in a couple weeks and won't get a lot of down time. Was thinking about getting one it helps.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
