Body Piercing-Surgery Question

Recommended Posts

Umm yes it it. I was thinking it would be very difficult to put it back in. I had emergency gall bladder surgery and I wasn't able to put it back in right away and I had to get repierced afterward. I don't want a burn, especially "down there" so I will put the spacer in and hope for the best,

maybe too personal but ring or bar?

i had a ring in til my gall bladder op and was allowed the plastic bar for the op and recovery they told me no in the tongue but down there was ok but no metal incase of xrays or scans etc

this time i just didn;t bother to use the plastic had it so long its not gonna close up on me and its been bar since the gall bladder op so easier to put back in than the ring which you need closers for.

you can always use nothing for the op get a plastic bar and have your partner or someone put the plastic in after.

It's a ring. It seems weird to talk about it in a public forum, but I'm sure I'll be sharing more personal stuff over the next few months LOL. I had the ring for more than 6 years but I forgot about it after surgery and it closed by the time I was up to thinking about it again. I will ask about it but if not I think I've seen plastic bars too somewhere. Or I'll have to make my first post-op out of home visit to the shop. Nice to see where my priorities are isn't it? :D Really, I'm just kidding. Sorta...

What happens if you can't get rings off due to gaining weight? Also' date=' what about acrilic fingernails?[/quote']

Rings have to come off. I suppose it would have to be cut off. Is check with the hospital for sure though. Artificial nails could stay on. Again, check with the hospital. I'm sure they all have their own rules just as we know the doctors do.

I suggest going to a piercer and getting the plastic ones not funky uv ones or anything these are a lot cheaper just say your going in for a op and need a plastic bar during the op and hospital stay they will do one the right size for you and switch it out.

They just cut a little strip off and make a thread on each end and add the balls it’s not pre made.

The rings are a pain I actually bought both a opener and a closer the little ball is such a fiddly pain in the butt to try and get right my sister and partner tried to put it back in for me kept dropping the ball so I just left the bar in and glad I did so I didn’t have to go have it removed again for this op lol

Had mine for 15 years so 5 or so days wasn’t gonna close up on me lol

Ask your doctor before hand so you know exactly what is required and you can be ready. Different docs have different requirements. I had my endoscope today and they said all piercings, regardless of where, had to be removed and all they were doing is going down my throat, lol.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
