Hi it's me again with another question.
I am type 2 diet controlled diabetic. I am in the process of having the procedure done. I have done all the testing and I see the surgeon again on the 17th of August.
I had been following the pre-op diet of 1200 calories a day without any problems and eating about 850-1100 calories a day and exercising one hour 5 to 6 days a week. I had been losing weight.
So I saw the surgeon on the 16th of July and he wants me to replace a meal with a Protein shake and stick to a 1000 calories a day. Now the protein shake is 300 cal. so that leaves me with 700 cal for the other two meals. But for some reason when I drink the shake in the morning I get super hungry all day long. So then I switched it up and having it for lunch.... the problem is that my blood sugar drops to the 80's- 90's which makes me feel very shaky and lightheaded giving me a headache and I can't concentrate. I am fine when it's in the 100-110.
I feel that if I had 3 meals instead of the shake I would continue doing good. I don't want to go against Dr.'s orders but I hate feeling this way.
I honestly don't know what to do.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
