I do understand. I plan to go to the next one at the Cornwell Center. Matthews is quite a haul for me ;) Do call that number that goes with that support group to make sure they are meeting. I went to one at Presby Main without calling first and it had been cancelled ;)

He only does 3 surgeries per day. And only performs them on Mondays. I was approved about a month ago, and my surgery is schedule for Decembe 17th. His nurse Sherri, said that you can always call back every 10 days and see if there are any cancellations

I am in Monroe NC. Seeing Dr. Pirrello will have surgery done at Presbyterian Matthews. Stil waiting on insurance approval.

Hi Kmoore! I am also having surgery through Dr. Pirrello. I am brand new. I won't see surgery until at least 6 months. How has your experience been with Dr. Pirrello so far? My first meeting with him went very well and he made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. I hope you don't mind if I add you as a friend.

I recommend my surgeon, Dr. Roc W. Bauman, he's excellent!!!! He's very serious about my care & his patients!

He's the Doctor of Carolinas Weight Loss Surgery in Concord, NC. He practices as bariatric surgeon @ CMC Northeast.

He is accredited & his practice is considered a "Center of Excellence". Over 2500 surgeries with positive results. He personally offers free info sessions at his office...it's on the website when they're having a session. I think it's worth the time & they're very informative!!! Worth taking a listen to, especially if your in search of a surgeon or information!!! There's no obligation, it's just to educate YOU!

WEBSITE: www.carolinasweightlosssurgery.com

Hopeful this is helpful to those in NC area. I honestly wouldn't have considered a doctor without a rating like his.

***BE SAFE & REMEMBER TO DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

CWLS Office # 704-403-7580

His staff are awesome too!

TAKE CARE ;-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
