I got home today from hospital I was sleeved on Friday. I'm feeling pretty good I have my pain meds, nausea medicine, and Prilosec so I think I'm pretty good with that department. I'm with a lot of you in getting all my liquids in, so hard! But with sleeping because of meds, it's really super hard. Any suggestions? I want to follow everything through exactly and I feel like this isn't good.

I had my surgery last Monday. I went home Tuesday and slept 16 hours! Now, a week later, I am having troubles falling asleep. And yes! For me, getting my drinking in is a b***h. How am I supposed to get 64 oz. of Water in and 65 g. of Protein in...if I have to SIP everything. I am trying my very hardest- I notice a difference in my energy level. After taking a shower today I was spent! Good luck!

Yes I have been working at getting in all the liquids and eating my oh so nummie (ha ha) broth. I love that I get to choose from chicken and beef, woo hoo-- the highlight of my eating...But you know I am really excited about getting the weight off and seeing results! I am just glad the hard part is over and I can start the rest! I love this forum thanks for your responses! By the way did you gain weight when you got home from the hospital? I got on the scale right when I got home yesterday from the hospital and it said I gained 4 lbs LOL!!!

Well I initially went from 265 at my pre-op appointment June 25th to 258 the day of my surgery. They didn't give me any restrictions other than clears the day before. I guess I was pretty dehydrated when I went in (I took a full liter of Fluid without needing to go to the bathroom). For my first walk after surgery they weighed me and I was 261, which they said was water-this all was July 9th. I am a week out, and Sunday I was 247, but this morning I was 250. Maybe it is just my scale, but my weight is up and down. I am looking forward to being able to go to the gym and work some of this Water off!

You need the sleep, you will eventually ge the Fluid in you need, give it time. Just make sure to drink as much as you can when you are awake.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
