Basically I think you bought a bunch of crap you will not be able to eat. Corn, really? Have you read the sodium amounts on those "soup at hand" things? It is a day's worth in one serving. Atkins shakes are loaded with fat.

I think much of this experience you are going through is an emotional response to wanting to hang on to control, at least in our minds, of our food. We want to be sure we will not starve to death or something.....

Did you have nutritional counseling before surgery?

I actually am 3 weeks post op as of tomorrow and I lost 21 pounds so far. I also bought flavorless whey protien powder I take half a can a soup add Water and a scoop of protien powder which is 25grams of protien. I track what I eat on myfitnesspal and have been very happy being able to eat the foods I enjoy just in small portions!

That is awesome!!! Keep up the great work!!! So glad to hear you are doing great!! :)))

p.s. I fit in a 14 petite today!! (I'm so happy)

Here's to us!!! And many more successes!!!

Thanks I just posted my 3 week post op grocery haul and weigh in

I am glad you are documenting each step of your journey - your excitement is evident! I do think that you may have purchased many foods that aren't the best nutritionally speaking, but to each their own. Also, as far as quantity goes it is great that your food will last, because that is enough food for a very long time. At ten weeks out I eat about 2 maybe 2 1/2 ounces of meat, a quarter cup of shredded cheese (often less), part of one egg, and less than 2 protein shakes daily. It is canned food you got though, so you will have plenty of time.
