Major Headache From My Pre-Op Diet

Started my 2 week liquid pre-op diet yesterday, and have a pounding migraine. I have tried other liquid diets in the past i. e slim fast, optisource, optifast, and experienced the same effect, hence the failure on these diets. Any suggestions?? How can I get rid of these headaches? I am freaking out I have 15 more days to suffer through this. I was told I can't use any asperine products 10 days prior to surgery. Ugghhh what do I do?

  • Thank you both so much... I'm glad it's not just me. It is comforting to know that this should pass in a couple of days.

I am day 2 of 21 day diet. The headaches are horrible. I hope that it gets better as i progress. I am during the Bariatric Advantage 4- 5 shakes a day and drinking my water. I'm not allowed anything else.

I tried a diet similiar to the pre op diet, and I found that licking a bit of salt helped a lot when I got headaches! Sounds strange but it worked for me (and the people on that diet board!)
