Hi Everyone, :help:

I have my surgeon's appointment TODAY,11:00--Dr. Jones, BIDM. I am almost sure to get a surgery date today. This web site has been a God-send, and I thank you all for participating.

HOWEVER, I am very worried about some of the problems people have experienced, and as I read ALL of the posts on these issues, I've become very wary of the surgery. I know nothing is "free," but will I become a farting, productive burping, port- infected, reflux-experiencing MESS? :omg:

What experience have you had with these issues? New Englanders tend to tell it like it is! I know I can count on you, but hurry!

Fenway Friend,

Lorna

Lorna, Everyone's experience is different. I can honestly stay I haven't had any trouble up until now at my 16th month point. I'm starting now to have acid reflux and I'm seeing my PCP regarding it Thursday. Prior to this and 75 pounds later there weren't any problems other than fighting that head hunger demon. Talk all your worries over with Dr. Jones today..THATS why you're meeting him and it's important to get it all out and talked about prior to getting your date.

Good luck!

Sherry

Lorna I can that nine months out nothing has been a real issue. I had the little issue with the port incision potentially being infected, but that cleared up no problem. Now, like Sherry said, the toughest thing I deal with is the head hunger and working on changing my bad habits. It's not easy, but it's always been worth it! Good luck!

HI Lorna, haven't been in this thread for awhile, but I can tell you that I haven't experienced much at all. It's been rather sympton free except that I do sometimes have "cute" little burps when I drink too fast and they don't last long. really, I don't sound like a beer slugging truck driver( sorry if I offend any beer drinking truck drivers out there! I was married to one in my dark past so I know what I speak of!!) I think you tend to hear only the bad things experienced , like anything else. if it were like that few would want this. My only problem is that my 1st fill had to be posponed due to my location and lack of vacation/sick time to take the day off. Not a good idea. :hungry: all the time now. wasn't hungry at all nearly till the fill was due. oh well, haven't gained but stopped losing, but that will all be better soon!!! Good Luck

Hey guys, I am being banded one week from tomorrow at Lahey Burlington and I am excited, anxious, and very nervous. I felt the need to check in here and I think this going to a huge support for me. It is really important that I connect with "people who understand."

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for your support. I have three days to go. I find out tomorrow what time my surgery is on Monday. I am trying to get all the laundry done, house cleaned etc before I go in. I am having it done at Lahey Burlington w/ Dr. Nepominshey (sp?) I will check in when I get home Tues or Wednesday depending on how I feel. Can someone tell me how to add the tickler on to posts?

Have a great weekend and please keep me in your prayers.

Thanks,

Eileen

Tickerfactory.com create a ticker and then copy and paste the first code box info to your signature. It took me a few tries. Good luck!!!

soon bostonchic! soon!!they seem like forever, but soon it will just be a distant memory! I'm sure all will go well. To do the ticker, just click on anyones and it will take you to the site where you will then be instructed to do your own. Once you have created it you go to the control panel at the top of this page and add it to your signiture. If you can't get it I can go back and try to remember how I did it !:D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
