In Pain, But Still Glad I Did It

Recommended Posts

I knew there would be some pain, but after surgery on Monday I was in more pain than I thought I would be. Thankfully it passed after a few hours. Now I am just sore, which I fully expected. Just like I read from a bunch of others, it took time to learn how to drink Water again. Now I feel like a pro and am not worried about getting enough in. I agree with Patrick that the gas pain has been the worst of it. I still have yet to have a moment where I regret the decision. My nurse told me I would be regretting it for a while, but I told her I didn't care how bad it hurt; I was doing what I needed to do to lose weight, so I was here for my family. No regrets, though I do wish I could fast forward a week or so. :)

I hope all the rest of the July sleevers are doing well. Everyone is different, but please feel free to ask me anything you would like to know, nothing is too private, I will share anything if it will help you in some way.

Bigdogkc (Matt)

It's great to hear now well you are doing Matt! Congrats to you on your surgery and best of luck to you in your upcoming journey!

I'm 4 weeks postop and had moments of regret early on. Ask me today if I have regrets and my answer is a resounding NO WAY!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
