I was sleeved June 15, so I know only a couple of weeks out, so things can change. I have not felt hungry at all since surgery! I'm not complaining, but it is just so weird! Lol yesterday I got busy & preoccupied, so I forgot to eat a meal or two and once I started to heat up my Soup (right around 10pm) a terrible storm came through and knocked out my power! I wasn't about to eat cold soup, so I figured I would just not eat anything and go to bed! Before my surgery I would've been a basket case going to bed w/out dinner--now I just don't care!!will I ever feel hungry again?

Yes, you will feel hungry later out. When I skip meals I get all shaky and I start to panic. I know that I need to eat 3 meals a day, small ones, all be it. However, yesterday I didn't have lunch but i had some Snacks. So I was wondering why I was able to eat more at dinner. I didn't really feel full until about 20 minutes later and boy i was really feeling uncomfortable. I don't think I want to skip meals anymore. I will be diligent about getting food in my tummy. ;)

I didn't start to feel "hungry" until close to a year out. I felt "empty" or had low blood sugar, and would realize once that set in that I hadn't eaten in hours. I am now close to two years out and if I'm not paying attention can go the entire day on my morning Protein only to realize when I'm shaky hours later that I've forgotten to eat. It's not a good habit, so your best bet is to watch the clock or set an alarm in the early days, and keep a Protein shake handy so you can sip on something with nutritional value all day long.

I haven't been sleeved very long but it is weird for me to when I have no appetite. My hubby is worried about cooking around me and I'm like, cook all you want. It doesn't appeal to me. Yesterday I didn't have any Protein broth until night and had the worst low blood sugar headache before I went to bed. I had to take some Tylenol.

Hello Cheri, good advise!!! I am getting sleeved on July 9th. How much weight have you lost total since sleeved?

I'm 18 months post-op and I don't get hungry. Like Cheri, I will feel empty and shaky if I forget to eat. It's a good reason to keep to a schedule of meals and to keep a Protein Bar in my purse for those occasions.

20 weeks out and still no hunger. I gurgle a little sometimes. But it is nothing like hunger pangs. I set my watch to alarm at meal times for awhile so I wouldn't forget to eat. I get as little woosey if I forget. Good luck on your journey to a healthier body and spirit.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
