Ok now I know this Tittle sounds silly but I was banded in 08, and every attempt to eat steak would send ME into a slimming and vomiting .well since being sleeved 2months ago I had a tiny piece of flank and I could eat it!it was heavenly lol.love my sleeve ...

I LOVE steak! I was so happy that I was able to eat it after surgery! I'm so happy for you, especially since it's been so long! If your sleeve is like mine, it will also love slow cooked ribs and pork :) Those are my top three favorite foods!

I'm hoping I'll be able still enjoy the tiniest bit of steak one day too. I've heard so many people on here cannot tolerate beef anymore.

My band is the majority of the reason I stopped eating red meat. There's just seemingly no way to chew it down the the point that it can clear the stoma. Every attempt to eat it (I only tried a few times) was a fail. I _can_ eat it now, but for the most part I still choose not to. I do eat some moist beef Jerky now and then. But I've found the taste no longer appeals to me, and my body does not feel as good.

If you're a steak lover, then congrats. :)

I've found several things to be blessings over life with the band. Like I can drink when I'm thirsty, not when my band wants to let me. I can eat at night, or morning... not just in my band's "window of opportunity". I don't have to question at every meal whether or not I'll be able to eat. I don't have to rely Soup all the time, or start a meal with Soup to prep the oven, so to speak. I can take pills when I need to take pills. With my slip, something stuck might cause discomfort for 2 - 3 days. I can remember some pretty horrible headaches that I just had to wade through, because there was no chance I was getting drink or pills down.

And no more having to taste those pills, btw. I would yak on a Tylenol, they were too big. Few things are as nasty as the taste of Tylenol or Tylenol sinus, or Predisone. Gah.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
