Officially Submitted To Cigna

Recommended Posts

This afternoon we submitted my paperwork to Cigna. I have a bmi of 41 with no other health issues. I quit smokin 4 & 1/2 weeks ago and I have been eating healthier already. I am so ready for the anxiety of not knowing to be over. two more hurdles...insurance approval then apply for financing for my out of pocket portion. I will be on pins and needles lol. Any prayes or well wishes is greatly and deeply appreciated.

I also have Cigna but the my husbands company, which the insurance is through, did not choose the plan that paid for any bariatric surgeries. I truly hope yours pays. My surgery is coming out of our own pockets. I have two more visits with nut, pulmonary dr., and phsycologist, surgeon then two weeks of pre op diet. I'm excited and ready for surgery. I have thought on this for near a year. I have one thing that I am fighting because I do not want this to interfere with my progress. I am a cruncher...chips, celery, carrotts, garden onions, bell pepper etc. I'm truly going to miss my crunch while on liquid diet. Lol Any suggestions?

I am also through my husbands insurance but I called Cigna specifically and bariatric surgery is covered when meeting their criteria. Im praying they dont make me jump through hoops lol. I hope your surgery goes well. As far as the liquid diet goes my guess is that it will be hard pre op but post op you will be too scared to want to eat something crunchy

Good luck! Cigna approved me in about 7 days. However, I had a lower bmi of 38 but I had diabetes, high blood pressure & high cholestrol.

I am so glade Cigna paid for your sleeve, unfortunately it wasnt in the plan my husbands company had chosen. I am to see my pulmonary dr. tomorrow, then the psychologist, July 9 another visit with nut, and and last visit with surgeon before surgery BUT before my surgeon will give me my sleeve I have to pass a test with a 90 or above or he won't do it. I guess to be sure I have read all information and paid attention. Does anyone else have to pass a test. Please let me know.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
