Open vs Closet Bander Questions

Are you a bander that everyone knows or closet - that only family and a few to no friends know?

Why?

Has it worked out?

Would do it differently if you could?

I am pre-band. I've told my husband, mom, sister, brother, 3 friends, 2 co-workers, and my boss.

I will not tell anyone else. Those I have told are those I feel safest telling. I do not feel it is my duty to educate anyone, nor do I want to be a role model. For me, this is a personal battle, and my successes will be sweet and my failures will be brutal. I cannot trust the failure with many people. I don't want to be measured, questioned, gossiped about.

I didn't want ANYONE to know before my surgery but now that I have had it, I tell people if it comes up in conversation or if people ask me why I was gone I just say I had stomach surgery and people usually drop it at that. If someone asks me if I had WLS I won't lie, but I am the only girl on my crew and work at a gold mine so most men have been married long enough to know not to ask a woman ANYTHING that has to do with their weight.
