Hey no problem please feel free to ask me anything. I palm roll and am very careful not to do it to tight around my edges. I take Biotin. Honestly my hair and nails have grown a lot since surgery I'm thinking its from all the Vitamins. I hit 4 months this week so I'm going to look for Hair loss now. I'm most worried about my front hair because its the thinnest. I started out at 241. I'm currently 202 been on a stall for about two Weeks. I'm 5'7 and was approved based on my diabetes. I had a really severe case and was on pills n insulin shooting insulin 7 times per day. Now I taking one shot of insulin that my doctor said will stop after I am down 20 more pounds. Probably more then you asked for but I am so grateful for my sleeve.

Thanx for your quick response. Girl it just keeps getting better we started out with about the same stats. I'm almost 5' 8 I was 238 before my liquid diet. I was sleeved 6 days ago and I'm now 221. I lost 7 the week before surgery. My hypertension was my qualifier. Its already improving. Okay I'm going to get some Biotin asap. Hope it is not too expensive. I am such a do-it -yourselfer. Totally balling on a budget lol! How was your lost the first month? I have heard that the lower bmi patients lose slower. If you don't mind in the future I would love to see pics of your hair and after photos.

Had my surgery on 05/16/12 and yes I have had Hair loss not doing a lot to the Protein Shakes I am going to do a Protein treatment on my hair. Plus start drinking protein shakes and see if that makes a difference. Plus I do take Vitamins, Biotin, Calcium but I am all natural but I do flat Iron. Might have to stay curly for awhile. Most of the time after surgery there is some hair loss. Plus with weight loss too there can be some hair loss.

Hi,

Im 14 weeks in and had a lot of Hair loss. The Protein Shakes help, no perms and NO flat irons Im natural now too and taking 1000 IU once a day of Biotin. Its working finally; just keep your hair well conditioned. I also agree with the comment about Dr. Miracle products or a little expensive Miss Jessie's products her products make natural hair look very nice and classy.

I went in for my relaxer (pre-op) last week and discussed this with my hairdresser. We agreed that would be my last relaxer for a while and from here on out I will get weave caps. She will braid my hair then design the weave cap in any style I choose. She was doing a sew-in and a weave cap while I was there and I am excited to get mine.

For those with relaxers. Does anyone have a plan for hair loss? I started taking Biotin today but I need a plan. Does anyone have any tips? Weaves' date=' wigs, pieces. Tell me what you did or recommend?[/quote']

Hello

I am 2 months post op haven't had any hair loss..I dont have a relaxer haven't had one in 4 years ..I do how ever don't use any heat on my hair ever ,no blow dryer no pressing nothing because I don't want any breakage at all..I have recent been using an organic Shampoo called Terressentials that works like a champ I also use organic coconut oil too..I figured these are so food for ur hair hopefully I won't get any breakage. Try going natural and see how that works for u ..if all else fails weave it or braid it up..hope this helps...hugs

I am almost 15 weeks out, have always struggled with getting in enough Protein and Vitamins. I decided to go natural three weeks after surgery and after my last relaxer. I have not had any Hair loss yet. I will say though the flexi-rod sets that I've been getting during this transition phase is really hard on my hair. It gets so tangled. I have no idea on what others styles to try (other than braids, locks, and the big chop) during my transition phase. I only have about 3 inches of new growth do growing it out go s comfortable length before cutting it will take me a while. Any suggestions?

^^^ how are you doing?

Rough. The pain was unbearable. I had my surgery June 26. I had 2 stay for 2 nights. None of the pain medications worked in the hospital at first. I went to my first appointment and I lost 13 lbs. My surgery said that was toooooo much weight. Im Dehydrated. I was on my cycle . It was bad. I have PCOS. My recovery has been longgggggg. It hurts to drink. Im getting them down . Its still painful. I refuse 2 go back 2 the hospital. I have 2 go back next Monday. If im still dehydrated I got 2 go back in the hospital for IV. I was in the hospital crying. The nurse had the nerve 2 tell me not to focus on my cycle. She said if I don't drink I don't go home. I started pouring the Isopure in the sink. Like I drink it. It was no way I could drink that stuff in 1 hour with all the pain of my cycle. I wrote in the sheet myself. I told her I was in pain, huge clots like my miscarriage was coming out of me. Im drinking now. I feel better. Im good on the Protein.

I know it will get better. Please excuse the grammatical errors. Im on my new pain meds. Codine liquid had me itching. They had 2 give me something else.

Ain't no stoppin us now, were on the move !!!!!!
Sincerely
Zeta

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
