I am trying very hard to do my liquids but my mouth is sooo dry I can barely tolerate drinking anything. Everything turns my stomach. Yesterday was my first good day, I'm 3 weeks post. Today I'm exhausted. I wake up and my lips have to be peeled from my teeth. Because of this I am constantly drained of any energy. Any suggestions? All prayers welcomed.

Can you suck on some ice chips? Or some vit. c drops? I have some sugar free cherry Luden's drops that I suck on when my throat gets too dry. Sounds like you're too dry. If it doesn't get better, I'd call your doc on Monday. You don't want to get in to a bad spot with this.

Best wishes.

It sounds like you are dehydrated: dry mouth, fatigue, depression, dark urine, sallow skin, headache. You might be too dehydrated to correct it with fluids by mouth. You should go to your local ER and been seen by a physician. This is a very serious medical condition so do not delay.

VERY VERY BAD, and can be DEADLY.

You must FORCE yourself to drink or go to the doctor and get an IV if you must. Watching your urine color is the easiest way to tell, anything more than just slightly tinged yellow and you are dehydrated. If you are NOT urinating at all be sure to drink until you HAVE to urinate before laying down to sleep. You can die from being dehydrated and just like having a concusion you should not sleep until you are rehydrated.

Thank you all so much. Since posting I have downed another bottle of Water. My urine is slightly yellow but I don't go often as I think I should. In total I've had 2 and a half 16oz bottles today. I have 3 kids and as you can guess am extremely busy, it's ball season!! I am having such a hard time with exhaustion that I get depressed. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, it means a LOT!!

I'm glad you've been able to get more Water in tonight. I forget to drink too. I've just gotten in the habit that my young DD and I don't go anywhere w/out a bottle of water... each! I have great well water so we don't buy bottled. We have re-usable water bottles that we both love, in our favorite colors and that don't leak if they fall over in the truck or on a field. Our latest bottles hold 24oz, so if I can get that down while out and about, I know I'm in a good place w/my fluids.

Ooooooo, ya, you'll be headed straight for about 4 bags of fluids in the ER if you're not careful. If you have trouble with nausea, take the anti nausea stuff the gave you when you left the hospital. (i think most of us are sent home with those.) Do what you have to to be able to drink!

And if I'm not mistaken....i think dehydration makes you nauseous...so....vicious cycle......

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
