Thanks everyone- I was in high school when I was a size 14 the last time :) I went back and bought skinny leg pants and 3 inch high ankle boots To go with it :) absolutely love love love my sleeve!!!

With feeling full etc I usually get in my throat and will still puke mostly when this happens. At the moment I have a 5 spoon/ fork limit then force myself to stop for a little bit. I mostly find this works. Did this yesterday at Hogs Breath - had 5 corn chips of my nephews nachos and got that feeling n my throat. Cut to 10 minutes later and spewing in the car park... Em-barrassing!! So even at 9 months I still get caught out. Morale of the story is no more nachos for me lol.

In terms of what I eat:

Brekky

A tablespoon of milo and hot Water with a little lite milk

lunch

If I can I will have 1/4-1/2 a ham and cheese sandwich on multi

Afternoon tea

Another milo or a few dried apricots

dinner

Usually half a piece of white fish with a a 1/4 cup of peas, corn and carrot or

50- 80g of chicken (1 tenderloin thingy usually) with nandos marinade with broccoli and spinach

Naughtiest

I am a card carrying mentos addict so have been known to eat an entire roll of these in a day particularly if I am driving :)

Exercise

I do weights twice a day, yoga mostly everyday and I am adding jogging (just 1 km at the moment) two times a week as well.

Hope you're all well :) thanks again for the nice comments!!! I am feeling great! Looking forward to getting rid of these final few kg to get to my first goal :)

In the throat if I eat too much. Otherwise if I stop at the right time it's like my brain switches off the urge to eat.

We are having homemade hot and sour Soup for dinner. My husband is making it now. I have such a craving.

Oh oh! You know that rule about no straws? Today I used one of those plastic tumblers that looks like a soft drink cup' date=' but reusable and with an acrylic straw. I drank a lot more Water than usual and no problem with air in my stomach. Your mileage may vary but I had no trouble![/quote']

Forgot to mention in my earlier post - thank u Misty for sharing ur food intake. I know I will find this info especially useful post op.

Cathy, funny you mention that :) it is good for me, the veteran so to speak to see everyones achievements and now see them inspiring new ppl.

With regards to the gym inspiration, it is not easy to feel comfortable in a gym, but most people are really feeling the same thing, everyone is looking/ judging me (other than the meat head weight lifters that are wanting everyone to look at them). A few things I can recommend to help with that, get a work out buddy, a friend to go with you, you can make it a fun ( and somewhat painful) experience and forget the other ppl. It also helps to have the motivation, I know I would not have done so well with out having some good ppl to work out with me who just wanted the best for me.

If you don't want to be in a gym environment, start walking your local area and as you feel better, start building up the pace and distance. Also a personal trainer is great especially in the beginning, they can keep you focused and give you a plan, and will work inside or out of a gym.

But at the end of the day you still need to do it, you may hate it at first, but it is just a matter of finding something you enjoy doing and doing it, in the long run it helps with everything.

Just my 2 cents, ok maybe a few dollars worth

I'm glad you find it helpful. But please remember we are all different and please obey your doctor and nutritionist even though they may tell you different from what you might hear on the Internet. :) Even in this thread we have all kinds of different journeys. Someone who had a leak, someone with celiac, someone who lost too quickly and has trouble not losing more, someone who has turned into an exercise-addicted hottie (maybe several of those LOL). I have learned so much from everyone here and I'm thankful for this thread. It is a haven of sanity amidst all the bull **** on the rest of VST!

Hi kazza

I started to lose my hair about 3 months in and it finally stopped at about 9 months. I am taking Silica which I would advise anyone who was going to have the op to start taking it before - it has helped me with hair, skin and nails and also has the added benefit for joints too if you are a 50+ like me ! Make sure it has some Biotin in it too but be careful if it is boosted with other Vitamins in case you are doubling up with other supplements - silica is a mineral but sometime they add other vitamins in the tablet.

I have to admit that I will be a year out on the 18 July and my hair hasn't fully recovered. I had very thin fine hair before I started so that doesn't help and I also continued to colour it to cover the grey's so my poor hair probably didn't like it. It is growing back slowly and has that fluffy look. I think we have to be patient. I did read on this forum that one lady was going to buy a wig! That did freak me out a bit! Thankfully mine didn't come to that!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
