Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Thanks sue, kelli and Aussiegirl for your feedback. It is hard to get goal weight info from both my surgeon and dietician ... I think there might be a conspiracy between them!!! Sounds right about the old percentage being related to a smaller sleeve. I'll just remain quietly optimistic that I will get into the sixties. Oh and I too must up the exercise.

Good luck with the surgeon today misty.

Kate

Oops..... I meant the old percentage relating to a 'bigger' sleeve.

Did a CrossFit session this morning. Part of the work out was a 500m row.

I was really happy with my time I got 1 minute 51, which was the 3rd quickest time in the group.

I'm loving this sleeve ..........

PS - I'm new to Facebook. If any of you would like to be FB 'friends' PM me your FB name. I'd like that :)

Have a good day,

Deano

Err' date=' I've met you Kell. Must've been a typo. You meant 41, obviously.[/quote']

Ha Ha, you are such a lovely man. No it wasn't a typo, I will be 52 this year and feel in some ways I look a bit younger since I've lost some weight. Thank you for the compliment.

I am getting my SLEEVE on May 14! I have to have a telephone appointment with the dietitian first but may not need to do a pre-op diet at all since I am under 100 kg. The surgeon would have been happy to sleeve me this Friday actually! But I have several commitments including travel to America next week and a concert to play on May 11.

I am thrilled. Need to talk to my husband about it to make sure he is ok with the dates and need to talk to the private insurance. Also need to sell the rest of my stock. Looks like the out of pocket will be 6500 plus the anaesthetist and hospital few. Two days in hospital.

That's great news and amazing that you can get it done so quickly and without a pre op diet too!!! The time will fly by now, especially if you are busy.

I can't stop eating. Eep. I think my brain is telling me to get it all in before I have to "confess" to the dietitian. Wtf, right? Hopefully now that I talked about it, I will stop.

It's called Last Supper Syndrome I believe. Most of us experienced this before surgery to some degree. Just keep telling yourself it's not necessary as within 4-6 weeks after surgery you will be back to eating most of the things you like, just in smaller portions. It's part of the emotional roller coaster and very normal!

Good luck Misty!!! I hope it all goes well and you are able to get the information that you need to make the right decision for you...and yes we do not discriminate' date=' you are welcome to come here for support even if you choose RNY :)

Dean, way to fly the Aussie flag. Love the profile piece.

I so need to get up to Brissy to meet all you Brisbanites :)...and yes Dean maybe you can bring along on single cops hehehe

On goal weights, neither my surgeon or endo ever mentioned a goal weight. I always had 75kgs in my head, which means i would literally be half the person I started out as. My endo was happy when I hit the mid 80's and was happy if I didnt loose another kg...

I currently sit around 77-78kgs (BMI 27) and feel comfortable here. I think there comes a point where you get to a weight where you are comfortable that you can maintain, your body and head generally tells you what this is.

I am going to start talking to plastic surgeons shortly about getting rid of the excess skin, atleast on the arms.....scary!!![/quote']

I'll drive all the way to Brisbane from Sydney if dean is bringing out single cops. You tell me where and when, and I'll bring the handcuffs.

Hey Deano - BTW we might have worked together. I am ICARE trained and worked for CS from 2004-2008 :) How funny would that be! It's a small world...

Nothing new to report here - work, work, work rules (?ruins) my life at the moment :) new job is good but really full on!!

Glad to hear you're all doing pretty well at the moment..going to bed dreaming of my next Brissy trip lol :)

Night all, Liss

Sounds like we should pick a weekend and have a sleeve get together in Brisbane and it would be wonderful if some of you from put of town could come. I feel as though we are friends having shared so much over the past 10 months. What does everyone think? Is there a long weekend coming up maybe?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
