Dean, I am in Sydney :) Damn, cause I am definitely not adverse to going out with cops...infact they are on my preferred list, cops, firemen, medics, lawyers (good ones), doctors..

I could be persuaded to visit Brisbane for the right guy, lord knows that Sydney is kinda empty of good guys.

I'd love to watch your video but can't get into it on my I-pad either. What title would I type into YouTube to find it?

I logged onto VST on my laptop and was able to view it from our thread through there.

Well so happy today - wearing a size 16 skirt (began at size 24 - 5 months ago)

I LOVE MY SLEEVE <3<3

You look fantastic! You must be feeling so happy - size 24 down to 16 is a big loss! You will notice that you will drop sizes a bit quicker now as it seems like the sizes get closer together as you get lower. I am fitting anything from a 10 to 14 depending on the shop at the moment! Well done!

We're from Sydney originally, Newtown. All the good guys in Sydney are married, or gay!

Thanks Kayargh :) I've got a ways to go yet - but at least it's coming off fairly consistently. And I now have a gym plan for the New Year - 1 day yoga, 1 day gym, 3 days home routine designed by an exercise physiologist so I don't hurt myself :) Or that's the theory...

Dean, I love Newtown :) I live in Pyrmont so it is not too far away.

You pretty much summed up my experience of guys in Sydney, gay or unavailable (married, ltr etc)..the few that are out there just want to sleep with you, no strings attached..and I am worth some strings :)

Lila, congrats, it is awesome to meet goals~!! You will get there before you know it.

I wanted to meet my goal by Christmas too, but don't think that will be happening now. 3.5kgs away isn't too bad though. I have weighed myself today, and am now not going to weigh myself again until next year. I'm going to enjoy myself and not feel guilty. 61.5kg this morning.

I live near parramatta, western suburbs are equally devoid of eligible men. Especially those that are ready for an instant family. I think I'll move to qld and marry one of Dean's cop mates.

Speaking of men, my ex, whom I haven't seen or heard of in a year, messaged me last week wanting to meet up. A friend of mine saw him and told I'm how smoking hot I am now and that he ought to feel like the biggest idiot for letting me go and not fighting to keep me. If he couldn't keep me when I was fat and insecure, he's got a snowflake's chance in hell if he thinks he can have me back now.

I missed my goal by 4kgs. Wanted to be 80kgs by Christmas, but happy with where I am now. Coming off slowly by surely. Now buying mediums and size 14 tops and 16 bottoms, so pretty happy. We are at Brisbane Airport about to fly to Townsville to have Christmas with my husband's family in Ingham. Back in Brisbane on Boxing Day. Would love to arrange a social get together for those of us in or around Brisbane maybe early January. Anyone around then?

Nice! We love Brisbane for family life but miss Newtown. I lived in a terrace and then an apartment in ultimo as well, a lifetime ago 90 / 91.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
