Thanks for the welcome Aussie Girl. Can I ask' date=' do u have a lot of large scarring from your Lipo surgery? I'm hoping to avoid it as my starting weight is 99 kg but may need my belly & boobs done. Do u have a scar from one side of your tummy to the other??[/quote']

Ali, I haven't really seen the scarring yet, still under all the bandages at the moment. Tho I am not as bruised as I thought I would be from the Lipo. I had an extended Tummy Tuck so the scar will go almost all the way around my body.

I will take some pics once the bandages are off.

At the moment, other than the skin not overlapping, I am not seeing much difference, except a lot of swelling...

Any West Australians?!? I am booked in for Sept 27th in Waikiki WA.... Can't wait!

Yes, I'm West Australian!! There aren't many of us!!

Had my op done early June and thrilled to bits with everything. The first few weeks are challenging, after that it gets easy. Good luck with it all and good on you for making the change!!!

Hi Aussie Ali

I m from WA had my sleeve 6 months ago at Hollywood. Started at 113 now down to 83, I am tall so only have 3 to get to my target weight was hoping to make it by 2 Sept when I have my 6 month check but am losing only slowly now so won't make it. Great news is that just got into a size 12. Pair of jeans, have to admit they are the brand N Y D J & they say you can go down a size as they are so comfy & flattering, I love them. Am off on a big trip in 2 weeks so will wear them to death ! Gotta get my money's worth.

This is such a great site even though I don't post much I follow the post which is a great support with helpful advice. I can relate to so many people so thanks to all of you very much. I am so happy I have my sleeve !!!!

Karen

Hi

I'm in WA too and was sleeved by Dr Armstrong at Hollywood 3 weeks ago.

Everything is going very smoothly and I'm not having too many issues. I have good energy I'm more active and I've lost 14kg since preop Optifast diet.

I'm just wishing I had done the sooner. Now I'm struggling for clothes. Dresses are fine but my pants no longer fit. Need a jock shopping trip I think !

I hope all are well

Hi all! 19 days til my op! So exciting! But got a little disheartened when I visited my new dietician on Tuesday (I moved so had to find a new one) and was told that my goal to get to 80kg was a bit optimistic :( I'm currently around 145kg and 174cm tall. She said that from data taken from patients shows that I'm likely to get to 95kg.

Anyone out there lost big numbers? I totally want to prove her wrong but am secretly now worried I can't make 80kg

Please make me feel better lol

I think many of us are given conservative weight goals from our docs and dietitians. They seem to aim for the top end of the weight range for your height. I was 107kg and was given goal to 70kg but will aim for mid 60's. My suggestion is to aim initially for docs goal then when you get close decide if it suits you or if you wish to be slightly lower without looking gaunt. Either way I wouldn't worry about it too much as I am sure you will feel fabulous once the weight starts coming off.

My surgeon set my goal at 65kg - which seemed a bit lower than most people so I kind of felt under pressure to be able to get there - I think I would have preferred a more lenient goal! Anyway, I set my own goal of 69kg which would put me into the healthy BMI range and I was going to be happy with that - I'm 167cm (5'6") and I was 103 and today I sit between 58-60kg! So don't worry you will get to where you want to go and what you are happy with!

Is anyone on the Gold Coast going to do the Run for your lives marathon? It sounds so cool.

It's a 5km obstacle course while you get chased by zombies!!

If you compete you can opt to be a runner or a zombie. Lol!

This sounds hilarious and lots of fun - except for the running bit!

Hi Ali I started at 103 and I am now around 60. The loose skin isn't too bad for me but if I was younger and single I would probably be looking into a a bit of a lift- although surgery is not my favourite!

Dons, I started at 150 kgs and before the plastics I landed in the 77-79 range, so 80 is definitely doable. I was aiming for 80 at first as well.

I did have almost 5 kgs of skin that was removed, so will be interested to see where I land now.

Thanks Ali :)

I.caught a glimpse of my arms today in the mirror while changing the compression garment, they are still puffy and bloated, with no bat wings hanging down...they look just normal..yehaaa...I have never had normal arms.

I am still carrying a fair bit of Fluid and draining a fair bit of stuff still so will see where my weight lands during the next week.

I am getting to go home from hospital today but still have 4 drains to monitor. But better than 4 more days in hospital

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
