Lol!You are way further down the track than me misty and I am always keen to learn from other people's experiences good, bad or otherwise :) Then I make my own mind up anyway!

I have just finished packing for the hospital as I have to be there by 6.15am tomorrow for an 8am op.Giving my kids a last bed time cuddle was hard but I am doing this for both them and me.

Surprised myself by sticking to 750 cals a day over the last two weeks but can't honestly say I was super strict with the opti today :) I am down to 122kg.That is 3kg lost in a fortnight and 5kg overall since my first consult with Dr Mosse in April.

A big thanks to everyone in each stage of their sleever journey who have so generously shared on this thread. You are all fabulous people and have helped me more than you know.

All the best today. We will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts. The operation is easier than you expect and then the fun part really begins. Enjoy the ride and see you on the losers bench.

One thing Diane helped me with so far is that she told me it is OK not to eat morning tea if I'm not hungry! I was always forgetting, and feeling guilty about it. Now I feel like it's OK if I don't want to eat then. Isn't it funny how much we tie ourselves up in knots about things.

I am off work tomorrow and Friday to get ready for my trip. I leave Sunday and I will be in India until the 21st. I will be checking in here periodically. I won't have a scale so that will be tough, but I hope I have a killer loss when I come back! I am feeling excited and a little nervous about what eating real Indian food with the sleeve will be like. It isn't really like what you get at Indian restaurants here, much less fatty and more healthy. And luckily where I am going there is more roti (wheat flat bread) than rice. So I think it will be fine. In the worst case I can always have an egg!

You look great, shell!

I discovered Gravox pre made gravy. I am having the chip gravy (on mince). 22 calories and 0 fat for 1/4 cup!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
