I am being tortured right now. Yum cha is my absolute favorite and I'm sitting here with the whole family for fathers day just watching everyone else eat. I just want to cry.

Stay strong!!! You can do this! Believe me I know how hard it is, I was craving chocolate the other day so I had a sugar free hot chocolate- probably not a great thing I do but it has no sugar, didn't raise the calories above 700 and stopped me from buying the real thing. Sometimes you have to weigh the good with the bad. But u will get through this:-) I told my ex mother in law today....if I have surgery on the 11th September I'm going to need her to look after the girls- all my family will b in Vegas from the 8th. She gave me a very disapproving look, said 'hmmmmmm well that seems drastic' I guess she hates 'elective' surgery as she battled breast cancer almost 10 years ago.

I feel you susie- yum cha is my fave too! Just hold it in your mind that next time you confront yum cha you will be able to think more clearly, enjoy small bites, and have an experience that everyone else is having! Not the panicked rush to consume everything on every tray that I know so well!!!!

Peace

Thank you :) I'm at Greenbank (south of Brisbane). I've chosen Dr Greenslade from Brisbane Bariatric at Greenslopes. I'd love to know if anyone has any feedback on him. Hope that's ok.....

Hi Aussie. I'm booked for Nov 14. I'd be in sooner except that that's when my 12 month insurance waiting period is up. So, until then, I'll just have to keep patient :)

Glad to hear yours is going well!

I've got family who have been banded - but that's not for me. I won't be mentioning my decision to them until post-op, too negative.

So good to have a great bunch of people to listen to......and bore.

Lol- I have to wait until June 2013 for mine! I'm seeing dr hatzifotis @ greenslopes... But the longer I wait the more I'm dealing with the mental side of this whole thing :) had a wonderful day today- Cereal and sushi w a long walk inbetween and I feel good! Can't wait til I see reflexologist/massage therapist on Wednesday :) I'm craving the me time!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
