I Think I Finally Settled On My Maintence Weight...was That Hard For Anyone Else?

Recommended Posts

It has taken me a long time to update my ticker because I got down to 115 but then bounced a bit up to 120 and seem to stay here.Which I felt guilty about. I felt like I did something wrong. But the truth is my hubby thinks I should go up to 130. I am happy with 120!

So, here is the question...if you are in maintence, did you get to a low and then bounce a bit?Not back and forth bounces like 5 pound cushion, I am talking about lowest weight and then a weight you seem to have settled at now. I am months 16 out and while I am thrilled at everything this surgery has done for me I thought that I would have less worry at goal but now I find myself worrying that I will regain...Guess I need to just relax:)

Wow! Congrats on reaching your goal! What an inspiration! A lot of hard work! I can't wait until I am there. I would certainly relax and enjoy all of your hard work, but being careful not to slip back into the old eating habits. You have done great and it is time to reward yourself!! :)

Congrats! I think that you are perfectly just where you are. I would focus on maintenance and healthy eating habits. If you loose more, then that's great, if not, it's no big deal. It's time to be ok with yourself. ;) You look fantastic BTW!

My surgeon told me this would happen. He said to set my goal at whatever I wanted, I chose 135 because of my height, but to know that I really needed to go down about 5-10 pounds more because my body would bounce back some. So to compensate for that, I intend to get to 125 as my lowest and then I have 10 pounds of wiggle room for the bounce back that he said was coming. I am happy to hear of someone that this happened to, it gives what he told me some creedance. Maybe it will give you some comfort knowing this is totally normal and expected.

Thanks for the replies....I am trying to be good with where I am at...just not sure if this is the "sweet spot". I also started running which cause the scale to go up because muscle weighs more.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
