I am super frustrated right now, its been two weeks since I cancelled my surgery with Dr. Kelly and asked for my deposit back. I paid using the same bank that he uses so it was a quick transfer that took minutes, I asked for my money to be refunded the same way so it would be easiest and they told me they would work on it and would refund me. The only thing I have received from them to this day is headaches! Last Sunday, over a week after they said they would refund me, I emailed them and I have not yet received a reply! I know some other people had the same problem in the past when trying to get a refund from them (they posted here) but I should had listened!!!! Now I am having to go through my bank to get them to investigate it and refund my money. Thankfully I have the contract which says that I have 21 days to cancel before the surgery and would receive all my money back. Please, please, please if you are even 1% uncertain that you want to use Dr. Kelly do not pay your deposit! or pay it with a credit card! I was very sure when I booked it that I wanted him to be my surgeon but after much investigation I decided against it, and all they have done is show me how wise I was on my decision to change surgeons. I am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism that I have experienced with this surgeons staff.

I attempted to contact Dr Kelly via http://www.mexicoobesitysurgery.com/ and received responses from http://alighterme.com. At http://alighterme.com the surgeons listed do NOT include Dr Kelly. According to the article at http://www.prlog.org...c-surgeons.html Dr Kelly IS a part of this group.

No, Dr Kelly is no longer with A LIghter Me, he has a coordinator named Omar who books his surgeries now. You can contact them by phone 619-395-5347 or by e-mail at wls-clinic@hotmail.com. Omar or Ana have been great at getting back to me right away with answers to my many questions! LOL

I've always had calls and emails returned ASAP.

They aren't requiring me to make a deposit.

I couldnt be more thrilled to have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Kelly in June.

I agree 100% that if you have a problem you try and get it resolved, but not sure if bashing him on a public forum is correct either?!?!

I do not feel anyone was bashing anyone. There were no personal attacks on Omar. She was just stating what has happened to her directly. This forum is for information to be shared in order to help make sure people are making informed decisions. If there is something going on especially with a money situation I would want to know about it. I am glad your experience has been a good one but not everyone has that same experience. It is good to know if you won't get your deposit back easily simply because some people do change their minds and do not have the time or money to wait. She is trying to help not bash I think she was misunderstood.

I am glad you had a great experience with them and I do pray she gets the same treatment. There could be a communication problem and I hope it is cleared up quickly.

you would be surprised on what they are interested in, they are very interested in the surgical practice as a whole not just the surgeons skills. I never said anything bad about Dr. Kelly's surgical skills, I am not having my surgery with him but have heard great things from people who have. In any case congratulations on your upcoming surgery.

Thats right your 3 days after me. I am on May 7th in Tijuana. Cannot wait, the anticipation is killing me. You are definitely welcome for the support. I am using every dime I have for this surgery so I can only imagine needing my deposit back if I changed my doctor. Congrats on everything and good luck.
