March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?

Recommended Posts

Hi! It seems to defy all logic when we consume 400 calories and do not lose weight. It's crazy. At six weeks I have lost a total of 23 pounds since surgery. I wish it was a whole helluva lot more' date=' but it's 23 pounds. Couple that with preop weight loss and I'm doin okay I guess.[/quote']

It's very frustrating, I was told that at 6 weeks I could start exercising , hopefully that helps with a quicker weightless, even if it's only 1-2 lbs a week! It's still something and would feel better then a stall!

Increase your calories. I was at a stall for over three weeks. I am 6 weeks out now. Increased calories and am losing now :)... You are in starvation mode.

I was sleeved March 12th and have lost about 30 lbs. I have been recording my calorie intake and I am only getting up to about 400 calories daily, I'm guessing that's why I'm not losing anymore weight :/ tomorrow I have my 6wk post op, hoping the doc and nut help me figure this out.

It is very frustrating to be eating such low amounts of food and calories yet come to a complete stall on the scales but I found this information the other day and really found it helpful. I hope it will help all of you too.

Same happened to me. Finally at week 6 I started losing after I was able to increase my calories. Try 800-1000 daily. Use fitness pal if you can online

Still chugging along here. Lost six pounds last week and this week .2. I've done everything the same, so... I'm trying to adjust to my body. I HATE my apron! The arms r getting a bit flabbier too. I've been doing weight training and walk/jog on the treadmill. I'm anxious to get to the 170s, it's my next mini goal. Currently I'm 182.2. Surgery weight 212. Starting weight 235. Sleeved March 12th.

Hello, I had horrible progress my second month, I don't know if it was a natural stall, but I did up my Protein to around 100 gm, got my Water up to around 55 oz and started going to the gym and now I am pleased with my progress.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
