Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I went to my post op class and drain removal. My pain is minimal . It was less once the drain was removed. I am still having a hard time getting in 40 grams of Protein and the 64 ounces of liquids. I am trying some new drinks to see if that helps. Does any one else have this problem? If I drink to fast my chest and stomach hurts.

I'm having the same issues. I get my 40 grams of protein from a 20 oz bottle of Isopure drink so it counts toward my liquids too although I haven't been able to get down over 40oz in one 24 hour period. Woulf.love to hear any suggestions to get more liquids in.

Yes, I am still not getting all my protein. Some days are worse than others. I also don't make all my fluids. If I try to stuff all that in, I feel sick and feel pain. I believe that it is up to the surgeon as to the size of your sleeve, right? If that is true, then mine must be on the small side.

I am not feeling bad or lacking energy, but I am worried about the protein. I am using Premier Protein since it has 30mg of protein per serving. Karen

I have been able to get in the Fluid and protein but I know what you mean about drinking too fast or in my case taking too much in one sip. I pay dearly for that with a nice spasm in my throat and chest that doesn't go away quick enough. It really hurts, so I try to pay attention to my sips. And it seems I'm sipping all day long to get in the minimum.

I have been in the hospital since my surgery Wednesday morning. This really sucks. I hate this feeling. I left Thursday afternoon but had a terrible emergency room experience a few hours later. I know I won't regret this in a few weeks... but today I wish I would have just bought some sensa or nutrisystem. Anyways, I'm drfting off on the painkillers. Ttyl.

I am sorry about the emergency room experience. Keep the faith. I felt like I got hit by a truck the first days. Try to walk as much as possible and use the pain killers as much as you need them

Joni,

I found a way to not have the pains. I broke up my shakes and fluids in 8 ounce juice glasses. I found that I don't get so overwhelmed, I won't try to drink too fast or too much. I am glad you are doing so well

Karen,

I am more concerned with the protein more than the liquids. My surgeon doesn't really want the protein to count towards liquids, but I got to get in what I can right now.

I am excited for Wednesday but at the same time worried about added protein and no liquids 30 mind before or after solids. With everything we will conquer

Melissa

Thanks Melissa. I actually got 60 grams of protein down in shakes yesterday. A victory for sure. I have also seen that low protein means slower weight loss at least for me. I dropped 3 pounds just by getting my protein up. So, starting off this morning with a 30 gram Protein shake again. Have a good day. Karen

I was sleeved on April 16th. I too have a hard time getting in my Protein. A 12 oz Protein Shake takes about 3 hours to finish. I am sure once the stomach heals I will be able to drink faster, but in the meantime any ideas on how to get in all our protein?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
