I will give you a wave as I go to Dr. Washingtons office today at noon. I have to pick up a form for my bloodwork. You will do great.

Still waiting to hear from her. surgery was at 12, its 7:05 pm....Hoping everything went well. I feel lost without my texting buddy lol I'll let you guys know how she is after i hear from her if she is unable to update you. ...

spoke with mimi's mom ..... surgery went great. she's doing well. She said shes nauseous but she was getting ready to walk around when i talked to her...!

I'm glad her surgery went well.

Fantastic, Mimismom today you just have to wait for the leak test, keep walking around get that body moving, hopefully they will bring you some water to drink to get your mouth wet. The dry mouth was the worst part for me. When you get home set yourself up with some type of protien drink and some gatorade or powerade and sip sip sip all day long. You can have and 1 ounce every 15 minutes. So slow and steady wins the race. I had two rocks glasses filled with my cytomax (40 grams of protien) and the other filled with powerade and dipped little plastic jello shot cups in them and sipped all day long. I had a little nausea but the prescription pill handled that mainly at night. One of the pills kinda knocked me out and I would take that one at bed time the other one was a 4 hour pill and I took that one during the day.

Get some rest but dont forget to walk around every 2 hours get that blood moving. YOu will do great.

I am not sure how many of your are local to the conway/myrtle beach area, but there is a support group meeting at 6:30 at the hospital. Hope to see you there. Mimi I hope you are doing well.

Hey Jafter!

I'm doing really well. Still struggling with the head hunger but overall doing very good. Getting all my protein in and water and walking. My incision still hurts but I will get over it. I'm looking forward to shedding the weight!!

you will start losing. Remember to get up and move around the house. Do you still have your drain in or did he take it out yet. Dont look when they pull it out. That will aleviate some of the pain. Take your pain med at night if you need it to help you sleep. Remember to sip sip sip all day.

Good luck tomorrow Sparky!!!!

Thanks Jafter! They took the drain out for me on Friday and that was DISGUSTING. I looked but it didn't hurt it felt like it should be accompanied by some sort of ridiculous animated cartoon sound. Lol I don't know if that makes sense.

Good luck tomorrow Sparky!!!!

Thanks, I've got my bags packed and now going to try an sleep. I am excited, antsy, anxious, ready, not ready.....just a little bit of it all. Will try to update tomorrow night....I have a feelin it going to be a great day :-)

Good Luck tomorrow Sparky !!! It will be a fantastic day!

Good luck Sparky you will do well. I will wave as I go to the support group meeting tonight at the hospital. If you are local maybe I will see you next month.

It's so good seeing that everyone is doing great! Congratulations to Mimismom and Sparky on your surgeries! The first week is the hardest part, then you've got it!

I'd be interested in exchanging recipes or whatnot that you guys have found yummy. I'm still drinking 60-70 grams of protein through shakes and milk since we're still settling into our new apartment and getting the hang of things. Good luck, everyone!!

Okay guys, I had my surgery on Tuesday , July 17 th and that night was rough and the following morning. By yesterday afternoon it was great. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired . I love me some SF icicle pops and the sipping of water and broth is good. They removed the drain yesterday afternoon and that helped my pain tremendously. I cannot say enough about how Dr. Washington and Emily have been towards me, they both are very dedicated to there work and patients, very passionate about us all. They don't make a lot of surgeons that way anymore. The staff at Conway Medical Center have been fantastic. They have treated me so good that I might decide to stay a week..Hahahah, this is better than the Hilton with room service.. Seriouly I am ready to go home but I would not be if they had not helped me start my journey.

Jafter I am local so I will be seeng u at the support groups, I understand that u guys have a good time.
