Nsv! Celebrate The Little Things!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on 1/31/2012. I have had a dream recovery. I've lost 45lbs so far (from my highest weight).

I've a few NSVs along the way already... not the least of which was having all of my work clothes, which were fairly expensive, taken in because they were falling off.

But, my NSV for today is a bigger deal to me because I've NEVER in my life been able to do it before. Not only can I cross my legs comfortably, BUT I can do it while sitting at my desk working. I can't believe my thighs are finally small enough to cross my legs under my desk and not get wedged in!!!

I LOVE the sleeved life!

I totally just walked past a full length glass door and thought...wow...I really do look smaller...and I actually have the desire to do my hair in the mornings and put on makeup. I work for a small company so looking good hasn't always been a top priority for me...but suddenly as my body changes...I actually want to look good...LOVE MY SLEEVE! Best thing I ever did for myself!

I feel the same way BrandiMarie!! I actually get up a little earlier in the morning to make myself up and make sure my hair looks good. It's so awesome to feel this way isn't it?

Congrats on your NSV!!!

I loved being able to comfortably cross my legs again :) Now, pretty much wherever I am I am sitting "criss cross applesauce" (as my little sis would say). At the dining room table, in a booth, on the couch... my legs are always crossed and tucked under me lol.

You are doing great! Thanks for sharing!

Isn't it great?! Congrats on your success so far. I have a huge pile of clothes to go into the donation bin but I also have a good assortment back down to size 14 so I'll be good for quite a while. I'm now the same size (different shape due to baby in between) that I was 7+ years ago and I could have never done this on my own in three years let alone three months! My son, lasik surgery and this are the best things I've done for myself in my life!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
