How Are You One Week Post-Opers

Recommended Posts

I'm two weeks out today. You will all feel so much better in a week! I am on a 3 week clear liquid diet so I still feel sluggish, but it has gotten easier. The belly gurgling is crazy and really loud! I sometimes refer to it as my alien baby haha hey ya gotta laugh right??

Hi, I am one week and one day post op. I have had a really easy time of it. No pain, able to drink easily so could get in all my Water and Protein. I was able to take medication from day one with no problems. In fact I was seriously wondering if they had actually done my op! The only thing that has changed is seeing, smelling and being around food doesn't bother me now. For that I am truly grateful. I am looking forward to being able to chew something though, I really miss that.

Your experience sounds almost identical to mine!! I asked my doctor's PA if I was a placebo surgery! LOL B)

I am one week out today. I don't feel like I have had surgery. Other than the dry heaves the second day, I am feeling unbelievable! I can drink with no pain, and I had 2 tsps of mashed potatoes tonight and they stayed down and didnt hurt! I went back to work 6 days post op. I dont think I really had surgery!

I am ready to get these 65 pounds off!!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I'm post op day 5 and have to constantly remind myself to drink! Does anyone else get that bubbly/growling feeling in their tummy whenever they eat? does it have to do with the temp or quantity of what I'm eating? Does it mean that I am full or starving? I don't like the way it makes me feel and that's another reason why I'm having trouble with getting all my liquids in.

All I really want to eat is comfort food like mac/cheese' date=' cheese and crackers and Cereal :([/quote']

I asked my dr about the growling and he said its normal. Its just how some peoples sleeve reacts to anything going in. My kids think its too funny.

Are you on some kind of anti acid? My dr told me that without it your body could confuse that feeling with a hungry feeling.

I am one week out today and have to say I have had a very easy time with this. No pain meds since getting home, no gas pain, no incision pain, no throwing up, I get most of my Protein Drinks in and getting closer to all of my Water intake too. I have one more week of full liquids and can't wait to start adding a little substance to these meals. I know is sounds weird but I can't wait to get some Wendy's chili and puree it, oh heaven help me!! Okay, I have to be honest here and admit that I have not started really walking yet. Oh sure I walk around the house and up and down the stairs but to really get out side and walk 30 minutes still hasn't happened. Gotta find my mojo...has anybody seen it?

If I take a big sip and then sit back I get the gurgle. Or if I drink a sip and lay down its even louder! I know the diarrhea gurgle now - I

Can't wait to be on solids so my bm's can go back to normal!

I am one week post-op today, and am having trouble with knowing if I am hungry or not. I'm on the full liquid diet for another week and can not wait to have pureed food! Even if the majority of it will be baby food... Sometimes I feel like I get too much liquid in at one time? And then there are times that I feel like I can hold more than the 2-4oz of liquid. Anyone else feel like this? No pain with it, just a feeling like I need to burp but can't.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
