tfyit reacted to mesaucedo in How Are You One Week Post-OpersI find I can hold a lot of liquid too. But it makes sense to me after watching my contrast test. The Barium went right through the sleeve. So I guess it winds through our intestines and our bladder just holds it.
As for the pain, Tattoodmom, could it be that you rolled over at night? I love sleeping on my stomach so I had to put pillows around me so I wouldn't go more than my side. I did roll over in my sleep the first night and woke up in so much pain! Or could it be gas that built up while you slept?
Hope you find some relief!

tfyit reacted to MINI-Me in A Cup Of Soup? :(You are COMPLETELY normal. You won't feel a lot of restriction (if any) with liquids.
All the diet plans seem to vary from surgeon to surgeon. Just follow the "rules" given to you and see what happens. You are closing into the 3 week stall that almost EVERYONE has. You will get through this!

tfyit reacted to Karen B45 in A Cup Of Soup? :(I just had a cup of Unjury chicken soup for lunch and I ate the whole thing, no problem, and I am 13 days out from my surgery. I am going to avoid carbs, because that is a very slippery slope that I just dont' want to get on, but I, like you, have no problem getting a lot of liquid in. I think we need to feel fortunate that it's going so well for us.

tfyit reacted to CindyGo1313 in How Are You One Week Post-OpersI'm post op day 5 and have to constantly remind myself to drink! Does anyone else get that bubbly/growling feeling in their tummy whenever they eat? does it have to do with the temp or quantity of what I'm eating? Does it mean that I am full or starving? I don't like the way it makes me feel and that's another reason why I'm having trouble with getting all my liquids in.
All I really want to eat is comfort food like mac/cheese, cheese and crackers and Cereal

tfyit reacted to thinoneday in Depression After Gastric Sleeve SurgeryHi, just like Lan2K, I too will be getting together with a therapist. . I've been told that a therapist during the "journey" is a good thing along with a support group. . . any help will be definately looked for, like ya'll on these forums. . your a great inspiration and great ears, I will definately continue with this! Depression majors sucks, I had it super bad when I was in my 20's (I'm now 47) I even attempted suicide (as you see it didn't work! I'm greatful) I was in therapy, hospitals, lots of meds. . . finally I just said "STOP IT" and repeated it over and over and over everytime I would start feeling blue, I told my shrink I was stopping all meds on my own, he warned me against it, but I did it anyhow. . .I hated that detached head feeling everyday. . . guess what! I'm drug free, I don't get depressed anymore and when those feeling creep up I yell as loud as I can in my head "STOP IT! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU" Then I go right away and concentrate on something else, my weeding, a book, crocheting, a HOT shower (always works, one day I took about 4 HOT showers, I was very clean) I'm ok now though and feel that I've won that battle, with this new transformation, I will definately seek the care of a therapist though, cause I can see where it could hurt someone. . especially if your not used to getting looks from men, whistles, etc. . .good luck all!

tfyit reacted to LAN2k in Depression After Gastric Sleeve SurgeryThanks for posting this. I for one will be consulting with a therapist. This is a major change and I am encountering mixed emotions about my decision to have had this surgery.

tfyit reacted to fluffylibra30 in Protein Help! The first few weeks the most important thing is fluids. You will get your protein in eventually right now you just need to stay hydrated.

tfyit reacted to Liliana Arleen in Protein Help!Search for "Nectar" samples, these protein mix are the really good, they taste kind of like crystal light or "juice" and you just mix them with water If you have any questions feel free to message me

tfyit reacted to hollygolightly in Protein Help!I went through the same thing. I worried constantly about my protein. At four weeks out, I get about half of what I am supposed to but I feel fine. I don't stress about it anymore because it's not good for me. I drink fluids all day and focus on feeling better not how much I ate or drank. I know this sounds like I am not following my dr's directions but you can go crazy thinking about it all day long. Drink what you can, go for a walk and catch up on your shows. Part of this journey is to slow down and take care of you!

tfyit reacted to Capt Derel in Protein Help! For the first 2 weeks post op all I drank was crystal lite and apple juice. Protein shakes would take me all day and i would feel sick. 3rd n 4th weeks Protein Shakes get easier and easier. I can sip 3 swigs at a time and I am 5 weeks and 2 days out. Give a 2 minute interval inbetween then repeat.
But heres a good note. They sell apple juice n v8 in 5 ounce cans. Perfect size
