Happy Thread

Anyone have something happy to share? Any good news is welcome!

Anything made you laugh or smile recently?

happy things only...

Here's one -

Anne jumped on her 2-wheel bike today and took off with NO help :clap2: . She was smiling from ear to ear - as well as laughing and singing to the top of her lungs!

Big milestone in her little life.

Seeing this made me smile - laugh actually.

Your turn!

Not sure it qualifies but after 2 weeks of the beach in Nantucket with 4 kids (you drive right onto the beach there)....I got my trashed truck detailed yesterday....you can only imagine the amount of sand inside........now I can sit down without sand stuck to my legs!

Oh, and I saw my first hummingbird -- ever!

It does seem like the dreary & bad news all comes at once....maybe that's a good thing....so the rest of the time can be happy.......hang in there Paula!

The Lord is providing a house at a VERY low interest rate (3% 1st yr, 4% 2nd year, 5% life of the loan) .....and it's BRAND NEW....so my husband and I are VERY excited!!! It is SO MUCH more house than we thought we could ever afford w/ the low interest rate!!! It should be done in a month.....maybe less!! We also get to watch it being built....very exciting!!! And I got to show it to my best girlfriend last night when she surprised us by coming to town!! Good day yesterday!

Oh.....and I can eat solid food after being on liquids the last 3 weeks!!! Woooohooooo!!!

God Bless,

Melody

Banded 3/20/06 -73lbs:)

Getting a vehicle DETAILED after 2 weeks at the beach leaves a BIG smile on MY face.. and its not even MY truck.

actually - ANYTIME I clean my van I get a smile. But fill-it with sand and heat and kids and all the food & body smells for TWO weeks :omg:...

Yep, I say this definately qualifies for the Happy Thread. :biggrin1:

Eileen, you get the prize for the #1 Happy Comment. That IS the best news one could ever receive! :clap2:

Melody, WOWOW, that IS great interest rates.

But the best news is to finally eat solids, yum. food will never taste as good as it does now.

My daughter is a musician. All during her growing up years, we went to every recital, every concert, even in college. Now she is on her own and we don't get to hear her very often. Yesterday, she and her partner had a picnic gig near our house. I went and was so proud.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
